You should form a partnership with TN on the card business. I would buy one!

Good news!

Parts have arrived at the JD shop. Under $80 bucks, for the finished job! WooHoo! I am so wanting my baby back by Tuesday. I am going so crazy that I am actually being more lenient with my customers.

Please, please, please!

I didn't even buy my mower from them, but they still take care of me.

They know I am stupid and coming to get a newer one
from them.

LOL

Maybe.

Melbrod,

Is that a real horse or something you drew?

I was just curious.

I suppose the photograph I copied it from was of a real horse. Artistic license, though--It got changed in the process of drawing it. But not on purpose.

Fantastic news!

The JD will be home sometime within the next couple of days and it is only going to cost around $70 dollars! Whew! I was freaking out about the possible cost. It had corrosion issues.

I am so ready to mow some thistles! I've been grumpy at work, because I wasn't able to keep thistles under control.

The girls love mandarin oranges BTW!

A weekly "application" of snake oil should prevent this from happening again...

AND......back to the internet I go......

Canada thistles:
Roundup and Basagran are effective when applied at bud to early bloom stage, but more than one application will be necessary for controlling established colonies. Oregon State University
So do you have established communities??

Removal of Canada thistles by hand. Persistence pays off.:
One of the best methods to get rid of Canada thistle is repeated pulling and mowing just when the flower buds are about to open. Pulling and mowing will eventually work to weaken the roots. When done over the course of three years, this method is said to kill up to 90% of the weeds.
Not all, mind you.

Then there’s the Russian thistle:
The article quoted ...highlights the evolution of glyphosate (Roundup, RT3, and other generics)-resistant Russian thistle in Montana. Russian thistle (Salsola tragus L.), a native of southeastern Russia, is one of the most problematic broadleaf weed species in the dryland no-till cropping systems of Montana and the U.S. Great Plains. Montana State University

And a fun little conversation about it:
How Long Does it Take to Get Rid of Thistles with Roundup?
http://forums.gardenweb.com/discussi...le w/ roundup?

But most sources (including the manufacturer ) say that RoundUp will kill thistles.

OK, so dashing around the internet looking for chickens, here’s my favorite website so far:

A favorite quote from this site:

Though this one is a close runner-up:
mypetchicken.com

Mostly because of their sales pitch:

"On sale while supplies last! Have a pet chicken you'd like to take for a walk? Now you can! This chicken harness won the 2015 Global Pet Expo "Most Outrageous New Pet Products" award.

Not everyone has a farm to let their chickens roam on, nor is everyone comfortable with free ranging their birds. This harness will finally allow you to safely walk your beloved pet and give them a chance to explore."

The "on sale while supplies last" line kills me.

What, no one liked my “Automatic Chicken Coop Door” ad?

"Thanks to the Chicken Guard, the best Automatic Chicken Coop Door Opener on the market, you can go out at night and sleep well without worries about your chickens."

You can sleep at night because your “kids" are safe without you. And just think--you can go to the movies or out to eat because you know your “kids” are secure and protected from “predators”.

So the ad subtly brings to light our wish to actually lock our teen-aged brats in at night--clever manipulation, effective sales pitch. Therefore funny?

At least to me and my offbeat brain.

Dom is a semi-feral dog that was living on Denny's property when she bought it a while back. She was awesome in that, unlike the average person, she did not have him removed. He surely would have been euthanized. He is not an indoor dog and never will be, from what I understand. Still, she feeds him and cares for him, to the best of her ability.

I think she likes him almost as much as she does her John Deere. LOL

I like this, Mel! Back in Kansas I had a one eyed chicken and all the other chickens picked on her. So, we had to keep her in the same coop but separated from the others. And, I DID have to take her for walks, so she could get some exercise! This would have come in handy! True story! Her name was Uno, by the way.

1972 Lyrics: I got a song that ain't no melody, I'm gonna sing it to my friends / I got a song that ain't no melody, I'm gonna sing it to my friends / Will it go round in circles, will it fly high like a bird up in the sky / Will it go round in circles, will it fly high like a bird up in the sky…

^^ Always circles back to chickens, sooner or later...
