Sooo.... Denny. Am I bragging? Do I have a fat head? Maybe.

But, boy's just like their toys (and the need for speed!) Basically I blame it on having grown up in Detroit. Woodward Avenue:

Thank you for admitting to SOME standard of decorum here.

Believe it or not, I DO get tired of having to stifle some of the freely flowing dialogue which is posted here.

The decorum is good with this thread, a very polite group. Even the Chicken Lady!

My first was a 47 willys jeep, tweety bird yellow , big tires and top end maybe 45 mph...bought in the summer traded it by the first frost. I cannot handle the cold.
The rest never mattered, but Beau and others are convincing me to get a Toyota this time around.

But when it comes down to it T and A is all that really matters!

and good fried chicken!

AJ,

What make/model/trim level of a Toyota would you prefer?

I can find you one.

IF you REALLY want one.

And, I guess I will pass on my friend discount...

Geesh.

Anything to sell a car.

PS
A brand new Chev Denali 3/4 ton diesel 4x4 loaded, is $92,000 Canadian + 13% Tax = 73,600 + 13% = 83,000 US$.
- not in my world, of wants

So Beau Truck Update:
a) currently own a 1998 Silverado 2500HD 4x4 5.7L-v8 / will restore body with Southern metal & sell
b) my next truck will probably be a 2002 Chev Z71 1500HD 4x4 6.0L-v8
- found one, next town over / solid with little rust, but needs a little work...Z71 with 190K miles
c) maybe my last truck, will be a v8 Toyota / a used purchased

From a used cost & repair expense standpoint - IMO the Z71's from 2000 to ~2005 are the most reliable, well built, not overly complicated & easily taken into high mileage.

My daily driver (DD'r) is a mint 2000 4Runner, SR5, 4x4 3.4l-v6 with full truck frame.
- currently has 137,000 Km = 85,000 miles
- one of my favorite vehicles, I've ever owned
Wife has a Toyota RAV4 Limited 4x4 3.5L-v6-269HP with 160,000 Km = 99,000 miles / fun to drive and awesome in winter

^^ Both our Toyota's are flawless, never break down, don't use any oil...a brand, that makes driving and ownership enjoyable.

------------Kelly & (Amy - RIP @ 11.7 y/o)

AJ - 4x4 Chev, in the early 2000's / by any chance ?
- that what I'm looking to purchase next / Beau might have to fly to FL, and take over your truck problems...

Son had a 2005 Escalade he drove to 120K miles / he handed it down to dad, to sell.
- the transfer case oil seal blowing, was the "straw that broke the camels back"
- Tcase also thin magnesium and replacement seals not made
- turns out GM took a standard seal, pressed in the new transfer case and machined a non standard diameter, in it
- plus the 6.0L in the big CADILLAC ESCALADE, was a pig on gas
- all the brake & fuel lines rusted / and the air ride suspension, was defective

Just explain it like this to young Mr. B: "T" is what you nose poke on female human visitors when first meeting, and that "A" is your doggy version of human names."

I'm still trying to get caught up after spending several days at dog shows (where no one was talking about nuts and bolts or 454's (I thought about tossing the hp rating of my first VW in for laughs--38 hp--I think commercial sewing machines have higher ratings than that).

Hmmm--I shouldn't eliminate nuts and bolts from what I knows--you can't spend all the years I spend in retail marine hardware and boats (sorry guys--sail not power) and not know a whole lot about nuts and bolts.
