Hey Doc, does Amazon deliver stuff to your home address? Or do you have to go pick up your amazon order somewhere ?

Not sure about his Amazon orders, but this is how Doc gets his beer out in the sticks....

Go to any East Indian restaurant (at least the ones we visited), as all the entrees look like they were run through a blender.

Andrew's basement - hit the finishing stages, after a flood last Spring.
- painting baseboard trim and major drywall dust floor cleanup...to do

A complete gut, and this the main TV room was stripped of painted wood paneling /
studded outside wall was insulated / mini pot lights in ceiling / cedar entertainment wall /
added a 3.5' x 15 foot closet with a custom cedar sliding barn door entrance / California pulled stucco ceiling / 470 square feet of PVC waterproof flooring (entire basement minus furnace room).
- plus redid bathroom, 2 hallways & Laundry room

Beau will lower his Humble True Nature now.
- and proudly point out Pro Drywall Taping & Mudding...Dad's labor gift, to sonny
- the Stucco Pro took my cell number, in case he has a difficult Plaster or Drywall job to trowel, nice & flat...even if complex
- he has been in Drywall trade, 25 years / and never saw this work of perfection, from a self trained individual, using Durabond90 on first 2 joint coats
- Larry was especially proud, when every Trade from pluming to electrical to trim, was more than stunned...that someone that never worked in the trades, could perfect his mastery (with mud & puddy knives)
- one said, on new home builds / they can't hire kids today, to do any quality drywall work...after on the job training, for 5 years straight

I was especially grateful, the unique design elements...was executed to my vision.
- our Realtor friend, saw basement 75% done once (but in a mess)...and he was in Awe
- Dad is very happy, BabyBear is pleased with combined efforts (including the Trades)

So yeah, I know and I basically don't care--it tastes good. I'm also the one who was eating off the taco cart in Puerta Vallarta. And I wasn't the one who got sick. It was the other two from our boat and the three from another boat being delivers who went to the restaurant (and drank the water)--(do not drink Puerta Vallarta water and don't fall in the harbor) heaven only knows what you are likely to come down with.

Yum--fried potato cakes--and I shaved some sharp white cheddar and topped half of them with that and stuck them under the broiler for a minute to melt. Time to go back and get the rest of the plain ones.

Maybe I'll do scrambled eggs tomorrow--of maybe I'll make some split pea soup or lentil soup--mm that sounds even better than split pea.

In the meantime I'll finish my potato cakes and go to bed..

Yeah--lotta' help you are--breaking my poor heart with Cracker Jacks--it wasn't visions of sugar plums that danced through my head on Christmas Eve--it was visions of Cracker Jacks--and I have a jar of peanuts around at all times to eat when I get cravings for stuff I don't have (because if I had it around I'd eat it) in the middle of the night.

I think it'a a frozen Heath Ice cream bar that I really like but the one you've been talking about would certainly do in a pinch.

And that hand out leaves me so limited in what I can eat--broth (not even anything like a pot of chicken noodle soup with lots of onions and celery and maybe even some peas with dumplings (my recipe for dumplings is almost the same as Mrs. 67--chicken soup with dumplings. Jello, pudding--after awhile I'd settle for a jar of library paste just to have something different.

i'm supposed to spend another three days before I can go back to eating stuff that is chewable--I can hardly wait.

Dang it Kenny--I just vetoed even thinking about taco's. There are several Mexican restaurants that actually have pretty good food and they all within blocks of me. If I go anywhere I have to pretend I don't see them so I don't I don't slam the truck into a curb and run into the restaurant screaming TACO's give me tacos and three pork and black bean burritos.

I'm going to bed--my will power is smushed but i took a handful of pills --the missing tooth doesn't hurt and now the sciatica won't hurt either and I can probably sleep through this taco craving until tomorrow morning when I'll be wishing to crispy hash browns, very crispy bacon or maybe corned beef hash with a couple of poached eggs on top...

Corned beef hash and poached eggs......yummmmmmmm....

But this one has me puzzled:

"...three port and black bean burritos" LOL

I guess you meant "pork"? Though port sounds OK too. There are actually a chunk of recipes for pinto beans cooked with red wine...never tried any. With your meds I guess you can't either....life is sad.

Edited to add: You little stinker---you went back and corrected your typo--that ruins my whole spiel.

Back to Columbo for a second. I was trying to figure out which episode was the one with the cute doberman ending and ran across this instead:

"A Lieutenant’s best friend: Columbo and Dog"
https://columbophile.com/2016/07/24/...lumbo-and-dog/

I'd kinda forgotten Dog. Sounds like he got his name rather like Hairy did.
"In "Mind over Mayhem", Columbo states that they just call him ‘you’, ‘dog’ or they just whistle – and that it doesn’t matter because he never comes anyway."

And now I feel incredibly stupid. It was a Monk episode that I was thinking of when I remembered the doberman episode. I think the Columbo dobermans killed somebody. I can't figure out HOW I confused the two.

Gelatin is made from animal collagen — a protein that makes up connective tissues, such as skin, tendons, ligaments, and bones. The hides and bones of certain animals — often cows and pigs — are boiled, dried, treated with a strong acid or base, and finally filtered until the collagen is extracted.

Had to look this up and this city slicker finds this jello fact quite disturbing. Now I know why I always have to use hot water. Hmmmmmm
No more jello for me thats for sure. Yuk!!!!
Thanks to all for sharing this with me.
Please tell me ice cream is not contaminated with various what not’s, this is our go to for sweets ICE CREAM!!!!! Yup!

MEL - Columbo called his Hound Dog "DOG" and it was so cute.
- we keep the Doberman one Taped
- but does anyone know, his Dogs real name ?
- a name clue, it was only in 1 episode, we recall, over 11 seasons
- just like Mrs Columbo...no one ever saw her

^^ Columbo fell in Love with the 2 Dobermans / and shoots a good game of Billiards,
in the rich killers house.
- such a complete Mans-man

Mind control (or, as the doctor corrects the detective, "life control") seminar guru Dr. Eric Mason (Nicol Williamson) uses two trained Doberman Pinschers, Laurel and Hardy, to savagely kill his "best friend" Dr. Charlie Hunter (Joel Fabiani), who had been having an affair with Dr. Mason's now-deceased wife. Kim Cattrall plays the resident of Mason's guest house who discovers the body.

Final clue/twist: When Columbo assumes that the dogs were trained to react violently when a certain word is said, he has a long conversation with Mason, hoping that he will use the word during the conversation (secretly recorded by Columbo). After the dogs react to the word "Rosebud", Columbo reverses the effect of the word through training. When he confronts Mason with his conclusions, Mason orders the dogs to attack, saying "Rosebud". But this time, the dogs give kisses instead of attacking Columbo, who had them retrained by specialists. Ed Begley, Jr. has a minor role as an anihttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbo... control officer and Tricia O'Neil plays a dog trainer.

You are the master !!!
Thks every so much LDi U know me, long read of my Papa reasoning coming...
The basement was a Labor of Love, for Beau to get his hands into / just like Cedar deck.
- while I'm a Pro @ Drywall & Plaster, I've had no desire to frame a wall with 2x4's
- people find this funny, how a few tasks...I became a master at
- much like I'm also a perfectionist at fixing rust in vehicles &/or welding skins...but I've never done a brake job
- I pick & choose, what interests me...and I learn from that experience
- figuring out crap & problem solving...I've trained my mind, to constantly strive for
- it was all part of my accident rehabilitation / that I undertook, without a plan in the beginning
- so Andrews projects, Dad gets to show sonny the other side of my hidden strengths
- like in the fabulous design elements, I can look @ a chit hole like a junky old car or flooded basement, and make it much better
- I always strive to make a project, 10% over the top...to recoup added equity, during an easier property sell
- and "down-to-earth" Dad...got to show off to intellectual & businessman son, that wears $2,000 suits to work (when needed)
- that was the best part LOL still being needed...and gaining some skill-set respect

Young Andrew as a teenager (+20 years ago), was not interested in learning manual labour.
- travelling Triple A baseball, Brown belt karate & world ranked billiards
- plus ranked in the Top200 in Video Games & commanded a World Championship win...in Warcraft or something
- so his basement projects now...was an extension of Loving Dad Teachings, we missed sharing
- when he was young & not interested / and thought home renos, was something you just pay for
- not realizing, its the journey in Life & even hard labor is something, anyone can benefit from
- from learning to use a screw driver or wrench / to a circular saw, without cutting off fingers / to knowing how to seek out a Professional Trade person
- and knowing, how the project has to be designed...even before the quote process is started

I taught him finally, after 2 failed cedar deck quotes / homeowners have to scope out a job better, before one brings in the professional help...or it will usually result in sub-par work @ rip off prices.
- so Beau was happy, to encourage son to take on some growth, with hand tools & construction
- now he can carry on a Home Reno talk, standing around a business BBQ
- and still captivate the Ladies, with his get-R-done/hands on attitude
^^ Dad would say - Project Success / he learned how to get his hands dirty.
- and Larry helped him fill in missing pieces, he never learned as a boy...growing up

BabyBear already bought a studio flat in a top professional hipster prime area, in Toronto (January 2020) - looks like he is planning to take up new roots, in the big city now.
- likely sell his local Condo, in spring & cash in a little

How are you this morning, Bug?

Gotta tell you, when I was 16 years old, I had surgery on my jaw. The surgeons broke my lower jaw and moved it forward, broke the upper jaw and moved it up. I had my jaw wired shut for six weeks. Yup, SIX weeks. Nothing but liquid or slightly thicker liquid that could go through my teeth for six weeks. So....I'm gonna say, enjoy the eggs and yogurt and potatoes, lol! I still have occasionally flashbacks Back then, I was a reasonably thin teenager, and I became a too skinny teenager. My mom would pick me up during my school lunchbreak every day and take me to Dairy Queen for a malt, just to try and keep weight on me. It was a pretty miserable time.

I hope you're feeling a bit better today. What's on the meal plan for today?

I just hope that Bug don't check out TN's face book page and see the Korean style wings he made ! Boy they look good . And I'm not teasing my Aunt Bug here - just a comment .

When I was a little guy - Mom would ship me out to Aunt Bugs place for the summer - What fun that was - She took me to dog shows , how to spit and cuss ! She is the greatest

Good morning - almost lunch time for me!

Tacos are one of my favorite foods! Can have most any ingredient you like on hard or soft shells. Nice cold beer to go along with and perfect!

Still working on the yard. Picked up tons of pine cones, most of the straw out and have paint to paint the foundation.

Mila has been a bit of a scaredy cat lately. Any strange noise and she is off her bed and against our legs. When I got up this morning and she was on her bed I thought the overhead fan was too high for her. So I turned it off at the light switch. Made a noise and she was up and under my computer desk.

So not looking forward to the 4th of July celebrations this weekend.

Hope everyone is or will have a good day!

Hey Doc, does Amazon deliver stuff to your home address? Or do you have to go pick up your amazon order somewhere ?
If USPS can deliver live chicks then I am sure Amazon can deliver your tater cakes!

Good Morning Peeps!

House payment due today.

UGH.

Liked it better when I was 3 months ahead.

It's been miserably muggy here the last few days.

Mister asked me last night when I was going to pop new mower's cherry.

Told him, not in this heat! I don't have a pool it cool off in.

Damn, I am good with the excuses!

My kitchen is clean, though.

I even cooked spaghetti sauce without green things!
