FYI - have been paying $110 (incl. 13% HSTax), large bag of Orijen for Kelly.
Started seeing good ads, for Nulo and Mrs. just picked up a large bag for $80 Cdn tax in.
- both 5 star brands
- my initial concern, Nulo is made in TX || some TX kibble plants have recalls, seems more common
- or girl has had softer stools, off & on ... hoping the change of dry food helps some
- she still gets homemade cooked meat/veg stew, in morning with some dry

Nulo Dog Food
From Pet Food Upstart To National Success, Nulo Keeps Dogs Healthy

It’s a long way from being a biomedical engineer to being the CEO of one of the fastest-growing pet food business in the U.S. but it seems to work for Michael Landa.

Landa is the founder and CEO of Nulo, grain free recipes for dogs and cats. After a successful career as a corporate development executive for some well-known companies, Landa started a pet sitting business in southern California in 2001 that grew to be one of the largest and most successful pet care companies in the nation. That’s when he started noticing just how many pets – both cats and dogs – required their pet sitters to administer medication, especially insulin for diabetes. He says that the engineer in him began wondering what was causing the problem and how it could be solved. And that’s how he got involved with pet food.

According to Landa, he thought that the diabetes and the obesity seen in so many pets were connected to their diets. Pet foods that were high in carbohydrates, high glycemic, and low in meat were leading to health problems for cats and dogs. After connecting with a scientist, Landa began researching pet foods, nutrition, and the pet food industry, learning all he could about ingredients and pet food formulation.

“I was shocked at the high amount of carbohydrates, high glycemic ingredients, the lack of meat in some of these products for these little carnivores,” he said. “Before I knew it, my scientist and I were formulating a nutritional platform high in animal-based proteins and low glycemic ingredients, all combined with a patented probiotic to help manage digestive health.”

Nulo was founded in Austin, Texas in 2009-10 with the first food distributed in 2010. Landa moved to Austin in 2010 to be closer to the facilities where the foods are produced. According to Landa, Nulo’s kibbles are manufactured by CJ Foods with facilities in Nebraska and Kansas. Nulo’s canned foods are made by Simmons Pet Foods. Both of these companies are well-known with good reputations for making foods for some of the top pet foods in the U.S.

Iv'e come up with the chicken thread's official theme song from The Music Man: Pick-A-Little, Talk-A-Little.

The chorus goes (on ad infinitum!): "Pick a little, talk a little, pick a little, talk a little,
Cheep cheep cheep, talk a lot, pick a little more"

Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvhFs2bdRpE

STJJ!

What do y'all think?

"The Music Man” My mom’s favorite musical.

Can’t decide whether I’m the lady in red, or the one in black and white with the black bag and all of the black feathers in her hat. So which ones are you folks? Guys??

Then there’s alway this one:

"Hens and Cockerals" from Saint-Saens “Carnival of the Animals”

Disney’s treatment of another piece from the same suite:
Always wondered about the randomness of an illustrator
who thinks of drawing a flamingo with a Yo-yo.
But “Flamingo with Yo-yo" does have a nice ring to it.

But "Pick-a Little; Talk a Little" might fit this thread a bit better.

Hell Mel! (Making a rhyme).

Aren't you the person who doesn't listen to Saint Saens because you thought there wasn't an enough dedicated organ?

Maybe I'm mistaken, but pretty sure I'm not!

Edit to say: I do prefer to be referred to as a cock as opposed to a rooster. Not exactly sure why....

Fancy you remembering that!

Very little organ in his Organ Symphony--it’s misnamed, in my opinion.

But I’ve liked “Carnival of the Animals” and his violin concertos since I was a kid.

Me too!

BTW, I remember EVERYTHING. It's an effing curse. When I was a kid and always challenging my parents, they took me to a child psychiatrist. He determined that I was Eidetic. He told them that they better get used to it. Most would think it is a gift, Nothing is further from the truth. The mind just gets cluttered with crap.

Eidetic memory, (sometimes called photographic memory) is an ability to vividly recall images from memory after only a few instances of exposure, with high precision for a brief time after exposure, without using a mnemonic device.

STJ!

Oh... the only good thing is that I never had to study to ace a test. If I showed up to class, the info was there.

Edit to say: Fortunately. as I age, this "blessing" is slowly dissipating.

But, it's the glue that holds our little family together.

My feelings are hurt big bro.

sniff

Ma!

BJ just locked me in the outhouse!

Ma! Where are you?

Come to think of it, when I worked at the flats at the grain elevator...

It was great fun pranking the elevator dudes when they went to use the (bad) Johnny On The Spot!

It started when they tied a rope around the Johnny and threw a fake snake in while I was trying to get out of there! I was Freaked out enough to squeeze out.

So, game on, right?

I recruited one of the elevator girls to assist me. We tried to rope him too, but before we got a firm grip, I started whisper laughing. My partner in crime had to keep whisper tell me to shut up. Intended victim figured it out before the girls could tie the knot and busted out.

I hope he still had a clingon!

LMAO

Okay, that was only funny to me...

"Nemesis--In the ancient Greek religion, Nemesis was the goddess who enacted retribution against those who succumb to hubris (arrogance before the gods)."

So 4X4 has a goddess cursing him? In addition to us ladies here??

4X4 better sleep with one eye open tonight.

4X4,

How's the air where you are with all those fires in CA?

I swear! I can smell it from OK.

What dumb A$$ started it?

Anyone that tries to start a fire around here, is well, a dumb A$$!
