I had to laugh about the rennet crack Mel--in general I think you're right but I was looking for something in an area that has a mish mash of weird stuff to use for cooking, baking etc in a local Portland Safeway last summer and they actually had rennet. But like most of us posting on this thread (the CT) Portland is famous (or maybe infamous) for wanting to be kept weird (it's city motto is "Keep Portland Weird!").

I also like to go get what I am after. I really don't like to window shop unless I am interested in the item at some point. I guess I must get excited when I am after what I want. My wife has to tell me slow down. I don't feel like I am walking faster. And when I slow down feels like baby steps.

But when I do go get what I want - say shoes. I will go to different stores to find just the right ones! Sometimes go back to the first store I went to

Perhaps over analyze things when looking at stuff I would like to purchase.

I also don't like jelly beans--black (licorise) or any other flavor. And I don't like chocolate that is flavored with fruits--like chocolate covered cherries or orange flavored. Peanut butter and chocolate are OK and so is choclate with mint but as for the rest of the things people flavor chocolate with--another big fat ICK!

OK, I got that off my chest now I need to go work on the back yard or the flower bed that's full of grass.

PS Malted anything tastes like the stuff you use keep moths from laying eggs stored clothing. Since I think that combining most stuff with chocolate is a cardinal sin you better believ I don't like it.

Rule number one...stay ahead of those expected flu symptoms.
Saline spray can cleanse the nostrils and smooth the sinus membranes.
Allows you to be a little more comfortable.....less stuffy.
And your hydration.....more than just plain water......mix it up.......water,ginger ale, drinks with electrolytes, teas, whatever its just as you hydrate try to drink more than just plain water throughout the day.
Certainly hope you feel better soon .....

I am doing all that, Di, and thanks. I would just like to know if it is covid, and if once you have it you are immune? It would be great because then I (or others) could go help with others that have it.

My neighbor is an RN at one of our large hosp here. She was giving lots of advice and also how to avoid. They are saying, take a shed clothes and take a shower when you come in from public.
The virus can last 9 hrs on metal, if someone sneezes on you, 3 hrs on hair.... can't remember all she said.

I am staying on top of it. Diffusers going everywhere. It is different than I have ever felt. Fatigue, headaches (which are new to me) and coughs that hurt.

I will text you her response after the initial phone call.

I was surprised she unblocked me and answered.

I did start off nasty with her.

Why the EFF have your goats been over here three times today?

We are working on the fence was her response.

And then the text war began.

Somehow, I am a liar. She believes her "family".

Invited her to come right over so I could show her on camera who is lying.

And, everyone thinks I am the crazy one?

They have brand new rolls of stock wire over there. Of course they are not brand new. They have been laying out there for at least two years now.

Good morning all.

Currently 52 deg with a high of 73 and partly sunny today and no rain.

Let's see - Licorice. I used to only like red. But my wife likes black. So over time I began to like black licorice better. We have a candy shop downtown that sells many different kinds of black licorice. She usually gets the Scotties and the Finnish. I like both of them. But licorice was never really my go to sweet so they are just good for something different.

Same thing with root beer. I like cola better but for something different root beer is good. Local brewery makes root beer on occasion. It is very good. Not as sweet as commercial.

Food topic.

Favorite dinner/lunch. There are sooo many choices. Well prepared tacos comes to mind. Homemade flour shell; spiced steak, ground beef, or chicken; cheese; lettuce; tomatoes; green onions; guacamole; lime crema; cilantro; and some spicy sauce. Or just simple Taco Asada - with lime juice. Add a side of chips and salsa. Nice ice cold beer to wash it all down.

Also a well prepared burger....Brioche bun; sharp sharp cheddar; mustard; ketchup; red onion; and bacon! Homemade fries crispy outside. Or wavy chips and French onion dip.

I seem to like burgers better than steaks recently. I know strange.

Favorite breakfast. Again sooo many choices. Brioche French toast. Poached eggs on toast. Hash browns. Bacon/sausage.

But there are so many good foods hard to just have one favorite!

Used to watch a show called Lark Rise to Candleford one character Dorcas Lane (the postmistress) had a saying "My One Weakness" - said this for almost every good food item along with other things.

Morning Moe!

You've already set the food alarm off before 0600 CDT for MC?

Noticed MC conveniently overlooked your Mel Duplicate Post alert on previous page yesterday. Maybe a two-tiered justice system on this forum?

In the interest of full forum transparency, I've requoted the subject posts:

Goat meat anyone?

I'm still pissed off about yesterday's conversation with Mama Tika next door!
