My daughter said an announcement went out at UCCS (University of Colorado, Colorado Springs) yesterday. She can do most of her classes online (and usually does, actually, but now she'll have an excuse for not going in) but not so much physics lab.

I am a recluse however, so I feel OK about it. More worried about supply chain type stuff and panic/hoarding of necessaries than anything. Hmmmm...cat litter. Better check my supply.

I still feel like it's overblown--definitely concerning, dangerous for elderly and preexisting condition people, but......anyway, I guess we'll all find out. Not much we can do except follow good hygiene and wait, I guess. I'm thinking anywhere within reach of an international airport with direct flights overseas (Denver International) will have more cases.

And just for the heck of it I'm re-reading The Stand (Stephen King). To remind myself how much worse it could be.
That's why a bought a house in the semi country and try not to go on cruises, fly on planes, shake peoples hands, and the list goes on!

Don't even get me started on the womens' restrooms at work.

I won't have the capacity to shut down if I get started.

Hey!

I ran over to Barnes and Noble yesterday and bought a book by Clint Hill, Five Presidents. Catching me right off the bat. True story.

Just a suggestion if you are a history type reader, which I am not.

Guess I am attached to Ike.

His childhood home and museum sit where he and his wife and infant child are buried and were practically buried in my backyard.

I think many of you know I work for a church. I'm not over 60, but this could be very...interesting, for my job. A large portion of people who attend church are over 60. And my husband works in elder care. So...also...interesting. His job could be significantly impacted. His particular work could easily be done from home, but the whole company is going to be very, very affected as they prepare and respond, especially since a huge number of cases in Washington are in elder care facilities.

I'm not one to panic, and am NOT panicking, but I think this will definitely affect us.
At 58, I'm not past that 60 age thing..... but I am diabetic which ups the risk. We had our first case in Pennsylvania this week. My oldest daughter lives and works in NYC - It is getting worse quick there. She is home this weekend, and I wish I could keep her here.

One good thing for us is that we are so rural here , But my problem is that the Docs are still tiring to figure out what's wrong with my elbow and have to go to a Orto Surgery next week and get his opinion on it - Why would I want to go to a place with sick people ?

I did ask my doctor the other day if they thought this ight be like the flu - when it warms up , it will go away ? He said its all new and they have not idea - but the good thing is as it warms up , people will be outside more and not in Gyms watching basketball .

And now ! It's time for a Ken rant !

WHY --- WHY do people still get on them cruise ships ??? Its a breeding ground and they are packed in there like Sardine's ! Then get on a jet and spread cooties everywhere !

Now if I was the POTUS - I would say sure - go on your trips - but you will not be able to return to the US for 3 weeks , if you show test -- Test ! Not show signs but have to pass the test first .

We are pretty well stocked up as we normally are for winter .

Now MC and this is for your Hubby to - I would forget the age thing - it can infect anyone - may not be as likely BUT ! I would like to see my friends work from home !!

BTW MC -- Stopped over at the home place ! Well I don't think I will say any more Well I will say - I think there is 2 home runs laying over there !
sadly, this has affected us already. We are supposed to be leaving for a Cruise from Barcelona, Spain to Venice, Italy in 2 weeks. We booked it 18 months ago...... we cancelled this week. Viking Ocean Cruises is giving us a credit to be used within 2 years. We will rebook .... but it will be another 18 months of wait. Lufthansa Airlines is not so easy. We have to rebook before our departure date of March 23rd, and it has to be used in 2020 or we lose it. Not chump change - ugh. So we might do some sort or European vacation this fall - but neither of us want to do a cruise this year in case of a problem.

I read The Stand back in high school - 1979. Seriously loooong book and so many characters!! I don't think I could re-read it now! The stores here (SE Pennsylvania ) are already running out of stuff. I was in Costco yesterday and they had limits on water. Crazy stuff!!

Had to run in and refill a prescription today--the only thing I saw a limit on here was bleach. And none of the shelves looked particularly empty.

But at least you aren't on the cruise right now. Going to Italy? It might have turned into a longer trip than you wanted.

So I am late getting on!

I was up around 5:15am. Only because work called...they had an issue which hopefully I got resolved at least for today and can look closer tomorrow. Do not really want to go into work today

Waiting for my egg sandwich! My wife is making it now.
Yay it is done and some mango to go with it.

edit - I forgot I am also having frilly coffee!!!

Have some shopping to do today. Drop off some returns at Lowes and put some stuff in storage. Maybe relax this afternoon!

Looks like he enjoyed himself! The last photo seems he is content.

Is that your land or took a drive?
Thanks Modm - Yeah , the open ditch is right behind our house some - we have this bridge to cross it to get to the field , It had been a long time since I took them down there . We stood there for a good bit , I just could not find what he was looking for and your right ! If I had let him go , he'd been right in the water and it was still coo out ( 48 ) so didn't let him go , Like I said - I was more worried I'd be the one swimming !

I have a quick story on that last picture of us in the swing , back 5 years ago , right after Kadin came here- I had to have surgery on my elbow - My arm was wrapped up from my wrist to my armpit , Could not do anything , lift anything , nothing for 2 weeks , So everyday at 12:30 , we went out front on the porch and sat in that same swing till 3:30 , he was just a little puppy , My wife made him a bed on the swing to lay on , He jumped up on it and laid down and went to sleep - well for 5 minutes , the0n 0he would look up at me and crawl up on my lap and stay there till time to come in , lol

So yesterday was just a refresher - I sat down and it was back to old times - here he came - lol You can't see it , but most of him Is on my lap , like when he was a pup .

I'm impressed, LadyDi, great job with the video!

And yeah, not the best time to travel to Italy

"More than quarter of Italy's population has been placed under lock down by the country's government as it took it's most drastic measures to date to try and stop the spread of coronavirus.

It applies to some 10 million residents in the Lombardy region, including the city of Milan and another 6 million in provinces throughout the country, including Venice, Parma and Modena.

As a result people will be restricted from leaving or entering designated red zones except for ''undeferrable work needs or emergency situations'' starting Sunday through at least April 3, Conte added."

Behold, 45 (yes, 45) pages of Mocha pics, from the time she was a puppy until now

Mocha
I missed this yesterday! You probably thought I was ignoring you. NOT! Now I have something to take up my whole day today. Rich won't nag me for not getting anything else done, so it's all good.

It was so HOT here yesterday! We got up to 72 degrees, with sunshine, but a little windy. It was warm enough the wind wasn't that noticeable, so it was OK. But because of the wind these past few days, we haven't been able to switch out the storm windows for the summer screens, and it's hot and stuffy in here. I ran the floor fan all day yesterday, and it's still warm enough in here, I turned it on again when I got up.

And about the time change? I AIN'T DOIN' IT! At least not until later today, or maybe even tomorrow. I slept hard last night and didn't wake up until my alarm screeched me awake at 4:00 (Standard time) and then Tigger (my sweet orange kitty) jumped on the bed and bit my nose. He does this every single day that I sleep until the alarm. "IT'S TIME TO GET UP, MOM! RIGHT NOW!" He just wants to go out, and if I loll around in bed too long, he has to wait, and you know how cats are about waiting. It's like that T-shirt I saw once, "Dogs have owners. Cats have staff." So very true.

Anyway, I'm up now, Tigger (and his cohorts) are outside, Missy is pottied, the litterbox is clean, the cats are fed, the cat barf is cleaned up (I hate it when that happens!), Chicklet's cage is cleaned, I had some toast, and now I'm finishing up my first pot of coffee as I catch up on computer stuff. I pulled a muscle in my back a couple days ago, bad enough to make a knot with spasms, and you know you can't move ANY part of your body without using your back muscles, so everything I did was painful. It was still there yesterday, so I took three doses of valerian root (muscle relaxant) throughout the day, and when I finally went to bed, boy, was I relaxed! LOL! That was why I slept so hard, but the good news is the knot is almost gone. I can't even feel it unless I lean over to one side and then it's just a pulling sensation.

Anyway, it was a beautiful day yesterday, and as I was walking around outside I noticed some green things, and when I looked down, I saw the first few blades of new green grass, and some tiny little weedlets, poking through the mud. And blackbirds! Yay! Another summer bird has arrived!

TN, I just skimmed through a few pages of your album (for right now) and I have to say I LOVE the ones of the two of you together. She adores you. And that one in the dark, with just her one eye and some highlights of her face... BREATHTAKING. That one needs to be blown up and framed. You are so talented.

May I ask what kind of home-made sauce? if it's some kind of BBQ sauce...recipe?
It's not a BBQ sauce, it's a Carolina sauce, but here you go:

It's apple cider vinegar, sea salt, black pepper, red pepper, brown sugar, chili powder, and cumin.

sadly, this has affected us already.

I agree, Mary Jo. I am certainly not panicking, but I am concerned. Mostly because my husband works in elder care facilities. I'm sorry about your trip - that's really disappointing.

I LOVED The Stand. One of my all time favorite books! But also absolutely terrifying.

Hi guys...I see everyone is sleeping late today.

I meant to respond to someone's comment, but I don't know whose it was or even what it said. The pics relaxed me too much, I guess...especially Mocha in the sun. Ahh....

And the calf--I didn't expect that, but linking it to SP is a stroke of genius.

OH, I remember...the dobe in the lap thing--I don't think dobes distinguish whether they are puppies or all grown up when it comes to lap time.

Good morning. Says it's 10:00 here, but I don't believe it. Snow expected in the valley, so they say.
Spring fever anyway and I have started my spring cleaning. Today I clean the nail holes. I go to extremes.

Dang - I think I will take a break for a few minutes ! Dog bedding day ! just got that done and now have another load in the washer - The life of a house man ! Cleaned the mud sink , Sweep the office + dusted , Had Hamburgers on the grill ! Took Kadin out and played some ball . Still have to do some windows - Someway - I have NO idea how it happened - but it looks like noise prints all over the lower half ! Any Ideas ??

Ad far a time change - I really don't do it , Like this morning - I got up at the same time - 6 am for now - but the cloak said 7 .

The second year we had DST - I did not change the cloaks and stayed on old time - only missed 1appointment ! lol Oh Wife hated it - Didn't bother me a bit . lol That only happened one time . Somebody said she would not do that again -

HEY ! I got to go ! Somebody told me to get back to work
