I am on the DABL channel and just watched a stupid show called Pet Project.

It was so stupid funny and couldn't stop watching.

Now I am watching Pick a Puppy.

According to wiki -

Haze gray and underway is a United States Navy saying that refers to surface ships in arduous duty at sea, in contrast to submarines or naval units in ceremonial roles or in port. It is a term of tribal pride and identification, e.g. surface ship crew use it to distinguish themselves from submarine crew.

Me - it is the ships are painted gray - and we would have to paint the ship either in prep to go out to sea and or come back into port.

Good morning everyone!

Head is pounding today - nothing like a migraine that MC or my wife used to get.... but painful enough.

Hopefully the advil will take care of it as I have a few things I want to do today. At times only migraine Excedrin works....don't have any today though

Last toilet seat and the shower curtain are a couple of things.
I think the last major change for the house is this Tuesday - install carpet in the master bedroom.

Paint fumes? Though latex paint shouldn't give you anywhere near the headache Oils can. Get better soon...time's a wastin'. Gotta get that work done

Or go sit outside with a tall glass of water and watch the morning happen I know, I know--water's no fun. But other stuff will just keep the dehydration going. Lots of water always helps my headaches disappear (but really all I get are minor ones.)

Don't think it is the fumes - wasn't feeling that great yesterday either. At first was worried a bit about flu. We have had quite a few folks out with it at work.

Water probably would be better. But I am having coffee for the caffeine. And too nippy to be outside 31 degs. I know a heat wave for you

Moe,found this quote SubmarineSailor.com website that might apply to CT:

(This compilation of quotes is very interesting/ entertaining to read)

"Submariners are a bunch of intelligent misfits that somehow seem to get along, understand each other and work well together.”

Submarine Quotes: SubmarineSailor.com

I also got a kick out of this quote, particulary applicable to sailors:

"Here is $5.00 for cigarettes and soap... your 'stuff' is at home!"

Had a buddy that wrote his wife from Yokosuka asking her to send him $25.00 so he could buy "cigarettes and soap and stuff." Enclosed was her next letter with the response above...

Good morning. More rain on the way, yippee!

Doing a little experiment here, drinking coffee without my usual vanilla creamer. I'm trying to hang in there but I don't think it's going to last long unless I get used to the taste as people are telling me I will...black coffee tastes horrible! I don't know how my wife drinks it like that, BLAH!

I've been stuck in the MUD for three days! Man, I love the warmer temps (we broke 50 twice in a row!), but the mud! Seriously, I get stuck in it and can't pull my foot out, and I was INSIDE the (flooded) horse barn. Also, I think the water trough is leaking out the hole where the de-icer thing goes in, because there's a huge puddle of water behind and to the side of it. One more month, and we can put the trough back outside and not worry about the de-icer until next winter. If it leaks outside, who cares?

Also, I just couldn't think of anything brilliant to say lately, so I've just been reading. Today is Rich's birthday, so yesterday I spent most of the day making a dark chocolate layer cake and the most amazing ganache frosting. A friend of ours has a chocolate farm (cacao farm, I mean) in Ecuador, with a processing plant, and he recently sent us several large bars (large meaning 12 oz, not candy-bar size) of 75% cacao bittersweet chocolate. O.M.G. It's SO GOOD! So I used some of it for the ganache and it BLOWS AWAY the stuff I usually make with "regular" semi-sweet chocolate. Of course, Rich, being the boring person he is, when I asked him how he liked it (he got to lick the bowl), said, "It's not very sweet, is it?" Holy cow, that's the whole point! Chocolate without all the overpowering sweetness! The chocolate is deep and dark, and you can taste the butter and vanilla in it, not just UGH-SWEET. He doesn't understand good chocolate, not at all.

This is why wheelbarrows were invented. You put the bag in the wheelbarrow and wheel it out to the coop. Don't you have a wheelbarrow? We have three of them, one in each barn for poop, and one "floater" for general duty, plus a light-duty hand truck, a dolly, and of course, the sled for winter hauling. There's nothing I can't haul out to the barn from the garage.

Lannie, Lannie, Lannie.

I have a very nice wheel barrow with 4 wheels. Currently it is buried behind Stryker's stall with crap piled in it.

25 days until Spring. I will think about cleaning the carport out when I thaw out.

I can't help it! I hate cold weather!

49 degrees and raining.

Gives me an excuse to abuse propane.

Good thing Mister is still not well enough to come in here and bitch at me.

Hey Kenny!

Weren't you the one making fun of my upside down gate?

That's on the honey do list.

When Mister gets well, the gate will be right side up and hinged on the other side.

Which means post hole.

And, you can imagine all the other stuff.

LOL. Come July, August, and September, I'll be complaining about the lack of rain and my poor lawn.

I am okay with rain.

Just don't want to be out in it. I like to be tucked in my house or on the covered patio. Summer time is different. I will get wet all day long.

Rain ticks me off the most when it jacks with the harvesting of hay.

Doing a little experiment here, drinking coffee without my usual vanilla creamer. I'm trying to hang in there but I don't think it's going to last long unless I get used to the taste as people are telling me I will...black coffee tastes horrible! I don't know how my wife drinks it like that, BLAH!

You have obviously never worked the overnight shift at a car rental counter at a major airport. Any coffee will do!

You must live a charmed life.

The people holding up a major road on the way to work because they just "got" to have their over priced fancy coffee piss me off. Seriously, Star Bucks creates a traffic jam at a major intersection.

This is why I drink black coffee at home and take the back roads.

Geesh.

Honestly, I have never had a starbuck's coffee. I refuse to pay their prices.
This is all I've ever added to my coffee...sure do miss it!

Last toilet seat and the shower curtain are a couple of things.
I think the last major change for the house is this Tuesday - install carpet in the master bedroom.
Sorry to hear about the headache. They've actually temporarily pulled Excedrin Migraine off the market, but, here's a pro-tip...the formula isn't any different than regular Excedrin Extra strength - both have Acetaminophen 250 mg, Aspirin 250 mg, Caffeine 65 mg. I'm frankly shocked they've not been sued for misleading advertising, but, hey. That also means you can "make your own" - you can generally take one acetaminophen (tylenol), one aspirin, and drink something caffeinated (a soda, coffee, etc) to get the same effect. Or, you can buy the regular Excedrin Extra Strength and save some money next time you shop.
