I'd fish that way for a few hours to half the day, depending on the weather, and then use the big motor to take me the 2-3 miles back to the marina. Only a few times did I check out spots further up or down river...I caught almost all of my bass within 1-2 miles of the ramp while everyone else was racing up and down the river, trying to find the best fishing spots. Other people have asked me why one even needs a boat, with the big old Cumberland river right here and it's because there are really no public access areas to bank fish. It's either private property, or it's nothing but steep cliffs, bluffs and rocks so you do need a boat to fish around here...unless you want to fish really shallow, small creeks for 2-inch bluegill

I just have to say that I am a crappy fan!

Now I have pop-ups of fishing stuff on YouTube! And of course - 50s - 70s(rock and country) songs, classical piano, chess, remodeling how tos….

Good Morning everyone. Start of another week

With all those choices to listen to this morning I chose this before I practice piano.

Good morning and still laughing at Commander Cats reminder Speaking of Commander Kitty - How are the Kitties and the old guard doing ?

Forgot today is a holiday ! That sure screwed up my plans for the day = Go to plan B !

TN - You have to work today ? If not - I stop by and pick you up and we will go boat shopping !

One of my favorite boats we had was a 12 foot flat bottom john boat - it would float in about 4 inches of water - we used it to float the river close to us . A couple of poles - a cooler with sandwiches and drinks and you were set Cousin and I co-owned it and gave 50 bucks for it - LOL

And Good morning all !

Heck no. It's still a huge if, and probably won't happen but if it does, I'll end up buying something cheap and simple like maybe a used john boat with a small motor and trolling motor.

Nope. It sounds like a great breakfast food to me. I just wish we could get bacon in South Dakota. Can't get anything but those packaged paper-thin strips of fat. The nice thick cut stuff disappeared years ago for some reason. I haven't had bacon for breakfast in probably 8 or 10 years. Same thing with bulk breakfast sausage. I used to love to make sausage patties for breakfast, but now I either have to grind my own or buy the links.

On my hand written remnants of the German Potato Salad are the ingredients:

bacon
potatoes
onion
flour? (I forgot where I put that, assuming in the bacon drippings)
sugar
water
vinegar
salt
pepper
whipping cream

I am thinking it's going to be really hard to screw the recipe up if all the ingredients are in there.
Oooooh, CREAM, that would be fabulous. I'm betting the flour was sprinkled on the cooked onions and bacon and stirred in, then the cream added (to make a kind of roux), then add the potatoes and stir it all together. Oh, yeah, that would be VERY good!

So what happened? Did they ever get going again, or did they cancel it for the day? I haven't watched NASCAR for so long, most of these drivers' FATHERS were still young men. But I decided to watch this one, and ended up only seeing, what, 16 laps? After NINE pace laps? I lost count, I'm not sure. Then a short delay, then the 16 laps of everyone driving in a line, then off the track again because of heavy rain, so I gave up. This driving-in-a-line thing was new to me. I remember when the drivers used to try to move up in position, and would take the whole width of the track to do it. Yesterday was the weirdest snake maneuver I've ever seen, LOL! Is that a new race tactic? (Seriously, I haven't watched NASCAR since Richard Petty was winning on a regular basis.) Maybe it was just boring at the beginning, eh?

I'd like to see one now that I've set my mind to it, so I'll have to keep an eye out for the next NASCAR event and watch that. Oh, you know what else has changed? It seems like all the cars yesterday had cameras in them, whereas before, only one, MAYBE one, would have a camera in it. And that foam bracket thing they stick their heads in. I know that's to keep from breaking their necks if they hit the wall, but I assume it's hard to get used to having that around you as you're trying to do 200mph with only inches between you and the next car. I couldn't do it. Of course, getting old makes you a lot more conservative in your exploits. When I think back on some of the things I did when I was young, it makes me shake in my booties. It's a wonder I lived to be as old as I am! LOL!

Lannie - They called the race - Start time is now for 4 p.m. this afternoon - so get your work done early so you can sit back and watch it .

Yeah pretty much follow the leader at the start yesterday - Like the old saying goes - You can't win the race on the first lap - lol

They have a new aero package this year and they are punching a big hole n the air with that tall spoiler - they have great closer rates , so it will be interesting what they will do today . I hate blocking like they do and have seen 2 try it in the earlier races last week and the blocker got put into the wall : grin2::g rin2:

I only watch a few NASCAR races a year - Daytona my favorite , We sure did see the great ones back in the day ! We have attended what ? 3 or 4 Daytona 500's - great time . Boy it's big ! and fast ! We were up at the track ( Indy ) when NASCAR was testing up there - the year before the first Brickyard - We were in the pits , leaning up against the fence looking at some of the cars - Felt a guy come up and lean on the fence right next to me , I looked over and it was King Richard ! Wife and I about crapped - lol - All I could say was Hi - lol at a lose of words - lol

Now a funny story - The next day - the Indianapolis Star had all kinds of pictures of the testing - On the front page - right there sticking out like a sore thumb was Me and my wife sitting there watching a car come out from Gasoline Ally -

Come on! Get another boat!

I will go shopping with you!

I was okay fishing in one of my old landlords ponds in a row boat!

Caught a six pound bass.

It turned the boat while I was trying to reel it in.

Didn't have a clue what I was doing but it was super fun!

Why can't you Canadians get on the same page as us Americans?

Do you all have a bunch of goats up there?

Good Morning , Its looking like it will stay dry enough today to finish that race. I thought Daytona was getting wet early yesterday , we sure got wet yesterday evening ...it was needed.
TN and his boat talk has me looking at mine and saying when?? It going to be a while since i am booked solid for a while. I have several properties that have to get ready. I procrastinated all last year and never found the time or motivation but it is a new year and have been progressing on getting them ready. I hired my brother to do one but I will lose him anytime since his normal work is about to crank up. I do not know why i pile so much on myself but i just cant help my self.... i will also meet with a guy today about adding 20,000 f2 of greenhouses. All this does keep me out of trouble

So today is my last day of freedom - I mean disability - and I have to go back to work tomorrow. Rather than being able have fun all day, we have a construction crew in the house

A while back, the water faucet connection to the powder room sink came off while we were gone for the weekend. And the water just flowed. Fortunately, the pool table caught most of it and we got home just as that was overflowing. Even more fortunately, there was a waterproof cover on the pool table.

So we spent the weekend getting all the other crap out of the basement to make room for the crew. They are going to hang a new ceiling, put in some can lights over the pool table, and sand off the god awful texture that the builder put on the ceiling. Once they are done with that they will paint it all up - and hopefully it will look great.

Unfortunately for us, the carpet was not destroyed. I would have loved to get it replaced as well, because it was a mess even before this happened. But that will have to be another project.

And of course Willie wants to help.

I used to love to make sausage patties for breakfast, but now I either have to grind my own or buy the links.
Can't you find any pig farmers in SD? I don't know if you have any Lidl grocery stores there or not, but they have good thick cut bacon for a great price.

That is terrible, I love playing pool.
- son BabyBear Andrew, was a junior snooker star in Canada...20 years ago
- we had much fun for several years, in pool halls almost 7 days a week & travelling
- even had a 6x12 ft. Wesbury pro table once, in our detached garage...with heat & AC

Buy this, trust me Cmom.
- perfect for sewer backup & basement floods
- mist in the air & spray furnace filter
- also THE BEST skunk eliminator / plus environment friendly, so doggy safe
- permanently removes cig. smoke, out of used cars
