ECIN, I am originally from Boston, and I see more crazy in one commute into the office in DC, than I have in all my years living and going back home to visit.

Way more crazy, than is covered by a simple “Bless your heart”.

My kids and husband say my Boston accent only comes out when I’m mad, watching the Red Sox, or driving, lol

And if you really want a Motor vehicles nightmare, try going to one in DC!
I think California has improved a lot since I moved back to the PNW but they used to have the most incredibly bad, longest lines and incredible wait time in DMV offices of anyplace.

I used to go and stand in line for license renewals at around 6am (DMV opened at 8am and the line at 8:00 would already be down the street and around the block and only got worse from there on.

Then I went to Vermont and getting a license from them was a walking the park. Walked into a temporary building (they were doing construction) and there were three people at the counter--(the side that does stuff) and 10 minutes later I walked out with a paper license (I think only South Dakota and Vermont were still using paper drivers licenses) and that was it.

Then I went from Vermont to Washington State and when I lived there and got my first license they had terrible service--took forever. So I was in for a big shock. Walked into a big empty building with long counters and people doing various things. A man at the door asked what I was there for--new license I said--he asked if I had a current license from another state--I did and he directed me to one of the people at the counter. They took my picture, verified my Vermont license and sent me down to another man who handed me a plastic drivers license with my picture on it and took my money. Took a grand total of maybe 10 minutes.

Oregon, even today, is somewhere in between. Not real fast but not a lifetime project. Thank heavens.

There's something wrong with having to wish for a blizzard or a hurricane just so you can get a day off.

Just sayin'

Yes, MeadowCat--it does sound lovely. I think I'll do that while I wait for the early morning commuter traffic to die down.

I have to take a tv that isn't really working in to a place in Vancouver--the Washington Vancouver--just across the river from me--but the morning commuter traffic and the afternoon commuter traffic is awful.

Finding a place that worked on small old tv's was amazingly hard. Most of the place that advertised tv repairs only worked on in home stuff larger than 42 inches. Who knew? Not me for sure--after a couple of them referred me to the one in Vancouver I gave up and am dragging the poor little orphan television in to them--either they'll fix it or they'll tell me it's not worth fixing.

So curl up with your kitties and the book MeadowCat--it sounds like the perfect way to spend you day off.

I'm glad to report I still do stupid chit ! Yesterday - I had to go to Shelbyville and take care of some business - After I was done - I thought why not go to Kroger's and pick up a few things - I just happened to go by the meat counter and took a quick look see ! Been wanting something different to eat --- THEN ! I found it ! Pre made Beef Fajitas ! With onions and peppers ! That's the ticket !

I fried it up for lunch a little bit ago , Boy did it smell good ! Then put it on some soft taco shells , then for some stupid reason - added some Mild Tostitos cheese on them ! Now - My belly hurts ! The Fajitas had some major heat to them ! So why did I have a second one for ??? Beats me ! Wonder where my Tum's are at ?

Only -10...sigh. Right?

This weather sucks. I shouldn't complain - it's been a very mild winter so far. But I still hate it! Glad I get to stay warm inside. I'll have to decide if I'm motivated enough to go out to agility class with Sypha tonight. We'll see how much it's warmed up in a few hours. I always worry a little when it's this bad. You just never know...if your car breaks down or something it would be awful to be stranded with your dog.

Yo Doc!
Calm indigestion: Add 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda to a glass of water to zap acid in your stomach. But acid doesn't cause all kinds of indigestion, so if your symptoms don't improve after 2 weeks, call your doctor. Don't take baking soda within 2 hours of other medications.

Low of 18 tonight, high of 34 tomorrow. Blah.

And, if they're right, we're all going from winter straight to summer this year.

She is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are her life, her love, her leader.
She will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of her heart. You owe it to her to be worthy of such devotion.

High of 31 expected today (but it's only 21 at 12:30 PM so far), 14 tonight--low 50's tomorrow.

We got a tiny bit of snow last night, but it's all off the roads now. Clear sailing.

They are called flow restrictors (a.k.a. orifice plate) to reduce dynamic flow of fluid, and designed with a measured hole in them.

Diaphragms are used in pressure regulators & switches, fluid valves and horns. They are not porous and if they get holes in them, they don't work and are NG (no good) (NFG for you old school engineers)
