I did enjoy my no-dog span for a little...having just a cat is loads different from adding a dog or two. At least Hairy gets me out walking. Thinking about THAT, I DID enjoy having just a cat...since it's winter now. In the summer, that's a little different.

Well, there was all of that fuss about Kansas right before the Civil War...apparently someone thought it should be counted as a southern state back then. And Kansas IS north of OK (last time I looked). Kansas being southern was refuted pretty thoroughly though.

But actually, there was no Oklahoma state in the Civil War era (admitted 1907--both North and South Dakota were states before that), and the war was over by the time they became a state too (unless you ask a [white] Southerner).

The central point of the continental US is in northern Kansas--which would make OK a southern state. Sorta.

I guess you're both right.

My high school teachers used to tell me I should be a lawyer. I guess I had a habit of arguing over their grading on tests.

My sister's daughter is a lawyer though, and SHE wears pants, even in court. Of course, that is to cover up the tattoo on her ankle. Because it doesn't look quite the professional thing. It's all relative.

I had to get up early this morning--had an annual physical to go to.

All's well with me, but I have a bunch of routine stuff come due (colonoscopy is one of them. Yuck.)

And I haven't gotten blood test results yet. I fully expect my Cholesterol to be borderline high. My doctor is an early interventionist, so I wouldn't be surprised if he wants to put me on meds. Tough luck--they're not getting me on a med unless it's over the moon high--and I know it won't be that bad.

I had to come home early because our heat pump has been using the auxiliary heat lately (without the outside unit running) and the maintenance guys were coming to check on it this afternoon. According to them, and I hope they got it right, the unit was low in Freon which made me ask how that could be possible, considering our HVAC system is brand spanking new and was just installed last June???? His theory was that the installers didn't charge it correctly...we'll see.

And since I was home and it was lunchtime, I made a big cup of coffee and took a piece of pizza out of the freezer and warmed it up. Do any of you have Jet's pizza where you live? Their 8-corner is da bomb diggity! The shizznit! Mrs. TN and I get it with chicken, mushrooms, jalapenos, and pineapple. Yum. Anyway, there I am, eating my piece of pizza, and Mocha's sitting there beside me, as close as she can possibly get, staring at the pizza as it travels from the desk to my mouth, and then back down again. Sigh...what's a boy to do? So I cleaned off the jalapenos the best I could and shared it with her but I made her work for each piece. Sit. Down. Stand. Back. Back. Come. Sit. Stand. Nose (stupid trick I taught her where we touch noses LOL) Twirl left. Twirl right. That was pretty much the end of my lunch but at least I got a few bites and, all of the jalapenos. And the coffee.

Can we talk about warranties and heat pumps, TN?

I am pleased as punch regarding getting a new heat pump for a $125 deductible!

I am giddy with the $50 dollar warranty payment!

I know I paid more to American Home Shield between the time we got back here and when I cancelled them, than what I paid for the new Trane HVAC system. And it has a 10-year labor and parts warranty, as long as I keep my end of the bargain and have the annual checkups done. And my old system was a 10 SEER, which couldn't even cool the house lower than 78 in the heat of summer, and this one is a 14 SEER, and so much more efficient. We have a 2400 square foot, split-level home, and ran the A/C like mad this summer, and never had an electric bill over $175. With my old piece of junk unit, it was common to see electric bills near or over $300 during the summer months because well, it was an old piece of crap.

So, we're good

I'm sorry Aunt Bug - but with your way with words has me LMAO
I'm practicing my writing skills on the CT--I figure if I can make this whole not quite right group laugh (or even smile) when I'm too old to do anything else.

(I know--and when would that be--pray tell--I already made it past the four score years and 10. They should give me the Best Citizen Award instead of Rush Limbau--he was such a bastrich in his heighday that he couldn't do enough charitable, altruistic things now to make up for it.)

Let me think a minute--I'm suppose to put some sort of caviate in at the end when I've said bad things about anyone--uh--oh yeah, just my opinion of course.

Google is watching you....
I was wandering around some website or other when I spotted a sponsored story "Dangerous Dogs Breeds to Avoid". Yeah, I know, dobes are always on those lists somewhere. But this one shows a CATTLE DOG for its cover picture. WTH!

that reminds me of a song LDI

Over the years, I've probably listened to this song more than any other. If that guitar solo doesn't bring tears to your eyes, you have no soul.

I'll trade with you. Our forecast for tonight is a low of 30 with a chance of snow, but thankfully they say less than an inch.
