So, I'm with SP, LOVE hot deli mustard with HR, like Boar's Head brand or our regional SA grocery store, HEB (rated #1 in USA BTW) knockoff, cheaper version of same! Also like the Kraft HR sauce for sandwiches, burgers, etc. Ba humbug to you.....AB!!!

https://www.kxan.com/news/texas/h-e-...ta-study-says/

However, Sriracha (chilli, sauce & catsup versions) are my fav condiments, low calories- especially the chili sauce. Great on omelets, empanadas, to add kick and make you eat slow and enjoy, not wolf down, Dobe style...

In case you forgot- previous CT post about Sriracha...

My 2nd fav condiment is ground Thai red peppers. Order first batch in these handy dispensers:
https://amazon.com/gp/product/B00PRB2JQA/

Then, refill from these bulk bags:
https://amazon.com/gp/product/B006VD177U/

I have ground whole Thai red peppers previoiusly, to save $$, using coffee bean grinder, but not worth it, as have wear gas mask, goggles, glove, etc. during operation....

Serrano peppers are my go to add-in, cheapest food in grocery store (besides bananas). For you seniors (anyone here?), eat one serrano pepper/day and will never have digestive problems. Great to eat with eggs, after sauteing, or sliced on burgers, and on crackers for lunch with turkey salad. To cut starches, I have been using red bell peppers, sliced into squares, instead of crackers or T-Chips, which are 15 cal. each.

SD'sTypical Low Starch/Sugar Lunch Plate:

Ate this kind of stuff daily, limiting total calories to 1200/day and lost 10lb./month for 4.5 months. The small lunch plate worked great for me for as starch/sugar reduction for weight loss, but now I've also got to limit cholesterol, as well.

We had some light snow yesterday, too, but it wasn't that cold and it rained all day prior to that, so it's icky outside right now. And of course NOW it's frozen (19F), but we're getting our January thaw. Today the guessers are predicting a high of 45, 36 for a low tonight, and 62 tomorrow! The animals are starting to shed. Yesterday morning I had Cricket in the milking stanchion eating her breakfast treats (warm soaked alfalfa pellets and beet pulp) and her back was covered in loose hair. I ran my hand down her back once and came up with a whole handful of hair that's fallen out. It's like it's March or something.

I hope some more of the old snow melts soon because the neighbor wants to come get Oliver, but his trailer is too long to turn around in the cleared area down by the cow pen, and it's about 600 feet from the road to get back there, so he can't back all the way in. (I bet Ken could do it!) Anyhow, the Bobcat's too little to move the piles of snow now to make the turnaround area bigger because they're compacted and mostly ice at this point. So we have to wait for meltage. I suppose if push came to shove, we could get our little 3-horse slant in there and load Oliver up and deliver him. Rich hates pulling the trailer, though, so he's hoping the neighbor will keep waiting for Oliver. At least Oliver is polite. He's not pushy or obnoxious like some steers his age can be. He still pays attention when I'm talking to him, and moves over if I poke him in the side, and he'll stand still so I can adjust his halter (he's growing SO fast!). He's a pretty good boy, and I don't mind keeping him longer. The only downside is he's drinking all my milk, LOL! Once he goes back home, I'll be back in milk, but I'll have to milk every single day, regardless of the weather. (That's another reason I'm glad he's here, actually.)

And tomorrow, I'm going to guilt Rich into cleaning the chicken coop. My plan is to just go out there and start doing it, and wait for him to come out and help. He wasn't even home the last two times I cleaned it, and I didn't get it ALL clean, so I'm hoping tomorrow, between the two of us, we can get all the old bedding (and crap and uneaten food) out of there, right back to the corners and behind the nest boxes, and start fresh. I need his help to lift the roost things up and secure them to the ceiling so I can get the crap out from underneath them. The nest boxes can just be brought outside while I clean the rest of the floor. Well, that's my plan, anyway, so wish me luck! (I might need some Advil when I'm done...)

Lannie, just reading your morning posts makes me want to take some Advil!

Actually, I had to take Advil yesterday, for lower right back, as I over did it Tues during my workout session upstairs. Also, missed my crossfit class Thurs. I rarely get back strains/aches since my early bachelor years (20's) where I helped my older sister and husband move to a two story apartment. I was on the bottom end of a roll-top desk moving up a narrow stairs to 2nd floor, which I later paid for with sore back for next two weeks. I went back to work on my tanker ship at that time and couldn't turn any valves, which was crucial to my job as deck officer (before age of MOV's on modern tankers).

Valuable Lessons Learned Then-

#1 Don't volunteer to help "friends" move!

#2 However, if you get extorted/suckered/shamed into moving- DON'T move Roll Top Desks or Converta Sofa-Beds without lots of help!

#3 After said moving operations, don't plan to return to work soon, if your work involves lots of physical activity, such as operating large manual valves.

Good morning...today is my Friday off and yes you guessed right, it's raining . I was really hoping it would hold off till late morning so Mocha and I could go for a hike but nope, foiled again.

In other news, Mrs. TN and I bought this air fryer not too long ago and have been diligently working on making wings. Trial and error, and the first batches we made came out a tad too dry but the ones we made last night came out pretty darn good. We've found the best thing to do is not to put anything at all on the wings; no cornstarch (way too messy), no seasoning...just cook them and them put the sauce over them right after they come out of the fryer.

If I lived closer Lannie - I would come over and back it in for your neighbor - lol

Years ago - we rented some grain bins - the lane to them was about as long as yours - 600 or so from the road - it was winter - the lane was solid - but get off of it and you were in trouble - the lane was right in a coroner of the road - so I had to make that curve then back in between 2 trees at a angle then back the lane to the bins = NO problem btw - that was with a 40 foot trailer .

SD . What a play with words ! still lmao ! ( Don't cut the Mustard )

Dobe Three-For Morning Picture

As I've mentioned in other posts, Eva has been recently been exerting her Diva Dominance with Spocko. DW called me into MBR this morning, where I saw this on my side of bed:

Who's the DoberBoss In This House?
(Spock on Left, or Eva on Right?)

Dobe Win-Win-Win Situation? *

* Win 1-Eva Demonstrates SHE's the boss!
Win 2-Spock gets to smell some butt while sleeping
Win 3-Both Dobes stay warm and comfy on Dad's bed!!

Morning! Light snow at my house this morning. We're supposed to climb to 40 degrees this weekend. Very unusual weather for this time of year.

It's Friday, so it's a good day!

We just recently got it so not too much yet. We did use the rotisserie basket to make French fries. I love making toast in the air fryer. Half a bagel, or a thick slice of French bread...it turns the outside a nice crispy brown and the inside is warm and soft like it just came out of the baker's oven.

I think we're going to try using the rotisserie with a Cornish hen, to see how it turns out.

Judging from her prior comments, I'm guessing she feels KS, not OK.

Weather here? I had glanced at it earlier in the week and it didn't look like anything exciting was going on. Yesterday mid-dayish, I looked outside and it was typical January, more or less clear. Boring.

Early in the evening I looked out again--there was an inch of new snow on the ground but the skies were clear.

I dunno where the snow came from.

I guess a tiny disturbance went through, but I sure didn't see it. They're forecasting a pretty good chance of snow for Monday on into Tuesday (looks like 4-5 inches to me) but it's supposed to be crystal clear and in the 60's over the weekend.

All of this talk of retirement from you guys brought this up:

Not everyone hates mustard--mostly just me. The only reason Mel didn't like mustard was because her grade school mixed mustard and mayonnaise together in the squeeze bottle dispensers and she hated mayonnaise. (Huh, now that I think about it I didn't much like mayonnaise as a kid--they made most of my sandwiches with just butter)--as Mel said earlier--as I grew up my tastes changed and I actually like a lot of stuff I hated as a kid.

But nothing really got rid of my dislike of mustard--the smell tends to bring back memories of how sick I was the night of the great Mustard fiasco.

Also bought lots of new clothes due to our new “dress code”........that was fun.
We can still wear jeans ...but no tee shirts that read “All I want to do is drink beer with my Doberman”........bummer!!! Ba hahaha ....
We have been instructed to wear appropriate undergarments at our new location.............I wonder who will be the enforcer of this policy?
I so much look forward to retirement!!!!
Only 4 more years of these rules !!!
So today is the last day for ......shall we say.....personal freedom!!!!!
Oh......what would DB do back in the day ......where is she when I need her......they did not say we have to wear them today.........
Remember burning those Bug?????
LadyDi,

I think I didn't have any to burn at the time. (and even if I did I was enough of a hip-i that I wasn't wearing them. I know I had one to wear to work (I guess we had to wear appropriate underwear too)

I want to know after you get into the new building with the new rules who exactly is enforcing the appropriate underwear rule. You'll be having the "Me too" folks picketing you for that one.

I can't believe they've restricted the t-chirt comments. I had one that said "Dogs drool, Bitches rule" that made my boss at one of the Marine Hardware store do a double take every time he saw it. I'd wear it, he'd look and go back to the place we kept the shirts that had the store logo on them--hand me one "Wear this instead..." I got a lot of free chirts that way.

Before the undergarments and stuff like that--I failed in "QUOTE"-ing--how do you get multiple QUOTES on the same page. (Luddite problems again)

Was trying to thank Kenny for liking the stories and get LadyDi's request on the same reply--but NO--I still don't know how it works.

The woman's movement LDi was an irritant to me--by the time it got really under way I was out of college and had abandoned jobs that paid well for things that didn't but would actually let me do stuff that was traditionally a male job if I could prove that I did it better. So I was working in a marine hardware store and the owner/editor of a small weekly paper that came out that was just marine news--articles and stuff, came around to interview me about breaking into male dominated occupations.

That irritated me just having her ask the question. "Darien", I said "How do you think I got this job?" I guess her interviewee's didn't often question her.
She said that she didn't know. I told her--I started as a cashier--because it was an available job. And while I was cashier I learned about a whole lot of stuff. The guys that were buying plumbing parts had to tell me what they were so I could find the price. Eventually I took over the plumbing department because I knew the difference between parts that might look alike but weren't the same.

She didn't get it--she wanted to know about splicing (rope)--my husband taught me to splice three strand--I watched the guy who spliced a lot of other kinds of rope that we carried--finally he offered to teach me how to spice things other than three strand--by the time he retired I could splice just about anything--and I was making a nice sideline out of rush jobs not done at the store. She still didn't get it.

I gave up--I got the job I have now and deal with all the ordering for four departments because I work harder and learned more than any of the guys.

If I can do that any woman who wants to do it can do the same thing. There aren't any big secrets about how to break into a male dominated field.

I loved those jobs, I was actually in demand and the standard dress code was levi's, boat shoes and logo t-chirts. I didn't need the womans's movement to help me along.

I was a non-participant. I don't think employers (of any kind) even talked about undergarments--that was a forbidden subject.

I've gotta' go to the store--I've been putting it off since Monday--no mo' stories until I do that--and I've a puppy coming at noon for ears.

Later gator's

In other news, Mrs. TN and I bought this air fryer not too long ago and have been diligently working on making wings. Trial and error, and the first batches we made came out a tad too dry but the ones we made last night came out pretty darn good. We've found the best thing to do is not to put anything at all on the wings; no cornstarch (way too messy), no seasoning...just cook them and them put the sauce over them right after they come out of the fryer.

Mmmmmmmm--those look good.
