Gah, what a day. I only had time to skim this morning. It's snowing like you wouldn't believe this morning, and WINDY? Holy cow. I woke up to a waist-high drift in front of the dog door this morning, so I had to dig it out enough to let Missy outside. I'm almost glad Zipper's not here, or I would have had to dig all the way around the house for her, and it would have all been filled back in in 5 minutes.
I thought we really dodged a bullet yesterday. It stopped snowing not long after I logged off here, and didn't snow again all day. We had maybe two inches total. But it started up again last night, apparently. I'll have to wait until it's light to assess the damages.
After beating the crap out of myself the other day, getting out to the barn isn't going to be very much fun. Oh, and I think I did something to my ulnar nerve, either in my wheelbarrow tumble or the chopping and hacking in the chicken coop, but my right hand (on the outside) keeps going numb. Like I'm pressing on the nerve, but I don't think I am. Anyway, it better get better because I don't do doctors. I think it will, I just overworked it and something is swollen in there.
And did I ever mention that I know Chris Hemsworth's cousin? It's true. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I found out. She's a friend of mine on the cow forum I belong to, and she happened to mention him one day (she's Australian, too) and all the cow girls jumped on her for information and it turns out they're first cousins. I don't usually think anything special about "celebreties," but Chris Hemsworth is CUTE. He's my new crush since Heath Ledger left us.
And on that note, I'm off! It's still not light out, but my curiosity is killing me. I have a flashlight. I'ma go peek out the door and see whether I should start crying or not. I hope it was just a bad drift by the door and not ACTUALLY a freaking foot of snow.
(Oh, I almost forgot, my favorite John Wayne movie is Hatari. No one mentioned that one, but I like it the best, not for John Wayne especially, but for the scenery and the animals.)
