LOL, Alan! And I'm sorry she has a lot of rough days. It's tough on both of you.

I've switched over to a little Leonard Cohen for a while...

Holy [email protected], MC, just watching that video makes me want to call the new 988 number...

Cheer up and post a funny about SP or LaDi, always works for me..

Related Story: When we lived in Houston, my DW volunteered on night shift at the Crisis Hotline, at an undisclosed location in town. Her counseling method was using her New York style "tough love" approach to callers (e.g. "who's gonna cleanup the mess you'll make?), which she was very good at, and it worked.

Just in case anyone else might feel the same (or after viewing video):

I'm sorry you took it that way! I certainly don't feel that way, but it's okay for people to have the whole range of emotions. Days of feeling happy, days of feeling sad...it's only when you feel outside the normal realm that it's worrisome. Many people seem to think it's not normal to ever feel sad, and that's simply not true. I hope you're not implying that viewing a video would make someone feel suicidal... ! Because, that's just not the case.

This music video simply says the world can be a strange place. It also says how beautiful it can be. To me, that's the mystery of our world.

I don't mean to be defensive, but...please don't think that people who listen to certain types of music necessarily are depressed, or that watch certain movies, or have a "dark" sensibility are in need of help. That doesn't mean we shouldn't share resources for those that do, but...we all know that what you see on the "outside" does not in any way the inside. That's all.

MC!!!!! I've been shouting at SP for YEARS about not including titles of her music links (so Bug can know what we're talking about without trying to open the file on her ANTIQUATED system (sorry AB).

And now that SP is really doing a good job of keeping up with that, YOU go and set a bad example for her.

Your east coast time is three hours removed from west coast time. So I don't feel at all guilty about lolling around in bed, half awake for an extra 1/2 hour (5:30-6:00am) I'm trying to keep the Joey the loaner puppy on a schedule (doesn't seem to be an easy job since the cats refuse to give up daylight savings time and want me up on their schedule).

Again I'm in the library--Century Link guy arrived as scheduled yesterday afternoon and it turned out that what with being shuffled from one person to the next when making the appointment to have high speed interned put in and no matter how specific I was about what I wanted the order that the installer arrived with was Discontinue phone service (no--not what I wanted--I have Century Link phone service and wanted the special package they were advertising to add Internet. ##%$#@[email protected]#*^! The installer finally recommended that I start over--he cancelled the order I place. Today I get to call back and start over.

I'll update you as I hear (and as I get to the library--good thing it's close and I like libraries).

Pbbtt on Century Link.

I didn't have a really good experience with them. They tried to sell me their service and misrepresented their speed as being a lot faster than it actually was, by changing the speed units--megabits (abbreviated Mb) vs megabytes (abbreviated MB) on the contract. Mega bytes are 8X faster, but they kept insisting they were the same thing in spite of knowing that speed was our MAIN concern with our internet service, and our direct questions about which units they were using. Of course, they got right out there and installed everything and set up a 2 year contract before I realized what they were doing. It took me a lot of time and calls right up the line before I could get them to cancel and not charge me ANYTHING for their fraudulent practices.

In fact I had to practically threaten them with fraud (I had lots of proof that is what they were doing---the salesperson, customer service, and their technical people had all repeated me the same line--and I had documented it carefully.)

Anyway, if you're not playing online MMO computer games, speed for most people is probably not that big a deal at today's speeds and I'm thinking Century Link may be cheaper? And if that's what you can get, that's what you can get. It just left a bad taste in my mouth. In fact (not to sound wealthy or anything), I sold my stock in their company and bought Comcast after my experience. I'm SURE it made a BIG difference to them *sarc*

It may have just been our local people anyway. It's a cut throat business around here.

What the heck are you talking about!! East Coast West Coast! The DT clock says what time it is...as Mel is permissible I grant you the same . I will like you anytime you get out of bed

I understand the cancel the work order , call and make a new and will come back. Your logical thinking will only confuse them...quietly cussing and then increase the volume should help you keep things straight

Got to the bottom step and she tried to slip her collar....so nope not going out yet

Unfortunately it is going to rain all day! Poor Mila and us. I have to go to piano lessons which I have not done too much with this go around.

Also to Lowes to buy a reciprocating saw or similar to get the shower stall out. I started last night. Sliding door and frame is out. Studs found and used jigsaw and channel locks to make a big hole around the plumbing. Took forever. Thus need the saw. Hope by end of weekend shower will be out and area cleaned up and begin fitting in the new one. And the problem with all this is - I have not really done this so will be an experience. Where is Beau67 when you need him!

That's his thing. He's a general contractor and a damn good one if I do so say myself. And, I ain't just talking chicken coops! He's El Perfecto when he's building and painting, deconstructing and reconstructing.

That would be great!!! I am almost finished demoing the shower stall. Just the pan left. Took me forever, worried I would whack something behind, so cut in smaller pieces. And I am not used to such work hands, back and particularly my shoulders (since they hurt from frozen shoulder) all hurt.

But definitely would be easier if I knew what I was doing....but giving it a go. Hopefully when I get it all out the new shower fits...

I think this needs to be the CT theme song? Unless, Portland John is going to have a fit and it insist that it be his silly song. I say the First Five Members Club should decide which theme song we should keep or change. Since Portland John is MIA, who wants to step up to the plate and fill his spot?

I, high five you for diving in. What you don't know, you will learn. It may be costly, but you won't make that mistake again!

It would be cool if we lived closer and we could all help out, together. I'm telling you, Mister works side jobs and undersells himself.

He is quality work through and through no matter what he's doing.

I am very proud of him.

Tomorrow is his Birthday. Suppose I will have to be nice to him.

Brought him home a case of Red Stripe, handed it to him said Happy early Birthday and handed him the box. Then I had to scurry to the bathroom.

That's what he gets for saying to me, "Happy Birthday old lady." I am only two months older than him.

I'm still not EVEN close to catching up here!

I am 2.5 days away.

I re-visited the work calendar and was pleasantly relieved that I miscalculated which Sunday I was working. Yippie! I get one weekend day off!

Sorry. Watching "Minions" (I had it right the first time)...can't participate tonight.

Besides, it'll make your catch-up reading less onerous, SP.

What?

It's an ad. HI ALL!!!

Honestly, SP, with all the complaining about catching up you've been spouting, I figured you thought this thread (or the people in it) was getting too difficult. Hence

"ONEROUS--(of a task, duty, or responsibility) involving an amount of effort and difficulty that is oppressively burdensome"

It is entirely your own fault if you want to apply the label to yourself. I certainly never did (at least not in so many words--but then I am capable of discretion, unlike some here.)
