College Football -

So the CFP should be set? Ohio St, LSU, Clemson, and assume Oklahoma?

Emotional Picks - LSU (as I am an Auburn/SEC guy - and they are tigers), Clemson (as I live in SC and they are tigers!), Ohio St (Since back in the day I did live in Ohio)….leaving Oklahoma 4th (Even though not to be counted out) (sorry SP - I know you live there - but Kansas fan) (double - or triple parenthesis Ma! )

I know folks say Clemson hasn't played anyone - but their QB/receivers are quite good....RB is fantastic.
Plus - Clemson and Auburn have quite a few ties/similarities -

They are Tigers!
The first three coaches in Clemson football history were Auburn graduates.
Both schools have a main administration building on campus that is virtually the same architecture.
Clemson’s Tillman Hall was modeled after Auburn’s Langdon Hall.
Lewis Grizzard used to refer to Clemson as “Auburn with a Lake.”

To name a few - lastly a number of engineers at work went to Clemson.

If LSU and Clemson play first due to rankings

I can't even remember the last time we were in best buy has been years.

Moe, that happened to me about 8 years ago with NewEgg online. Got a couple surprise emails on a Mon morning, saying my Orders Have Been Confirmed at NewEgg! Orders were for expensive cell phones and camera equipment. Luckily payment did not go through since CC on file had old info.

ID thieves had hacked my account password and made the orders. They had changed default shipping address to a place in CA, at an import/export business (like in the B grade crime movies) What hackers had neglected to do was change the account password and email. This would have kept me from accessing, but would have triggered a notification. After that date I upgraded all online passwords with unique, strong ones, changed on regular basis.

Now I use 2-step verification (2SV) on all online accounts, where available. (Text code verification to access in addition to User Name/PW) I don't keep CC info online, especially if 2-step security is not available.

Yep - Once we get this straightened up or in parallel, will have to go through all the accounts we have and beef up as you mentioned. We have had similar issue with a AMEX credit card - but they alerted us and called and checked - we said no not our purchases.

Well, that sucks. I just caught up on this thread, and had picked out a few posts to reply to, started replying, and my computer whacked out and did something I don't understand and I couldn't get back to where I was. No, I hadn't yet done the swipe and copy thing... so it's all gone and I don't have time to start over. I'll see if I can remember some of what I was saying.

I tried posting a pic of Horus for SP, and that's where I started having trouble with the 'puter, so maybe I did something wrong. I'm afraid to try again now. I'll do it later by itself, so I don't end up losing a bunch of typing.

And whoever was saying they don't make brioche because it takes 2 days (I forgot who it was now), you don't have to wait that long. I make it all the time, and I use it right after I make it. If it's still a bit soft, 30 minutes in the fridge will firm it up nicely. I use brioche to make cinnamon rolls, YUM! One thing I've learned about bread is there's a recipe, and then there are the "other" ways you can achieve the same result. Since I'm all about saving time, I do things as quick as possible, and no way does brioche need 12 hours in the fridge. Try it sometime.

Oh, yeah, and I'm up every morning at 3:00 am now that it's winter. I just don't get on the computer right away because I have other duties that need to be done first. Animal stuff, catz and dogz.

What else was I going to say....... oh, I told Rich the pics he was sending me were too small, so he sent me a test one that's bigger. It looks the same to me, on my computer, but when I get up the nerve to try posting the picture of Horus, I'll also post that test picture and see if it works any better.

OK, I guess I forgot all the rest. Gonna go have another cup of coffee now, then I have to go wake up that grumpy bear, Rich, and get ready for morning chores.

Thanks LadyDi - it may not be as bad as initially thought. We called the BestBuy Financial Institute - They said no purchases are on the card.

We looked closer at the email receipts and showed that they were paid with by cash. 70" TV, Cheetos and drink, XB1 game, donation to St. Jude's. So we will call Best Buy Corporate and see how this might of happened - sending receipts to us. My wife's email is somewhat different than the standard yahoo account.

When wife told me about it - I said not to click any links in the email - in case it was a fraud email trying for the clicking of links. But it does look real best I can tell from the sent link....no strange addresses between the Dots (.) or slashes (\) to reroute.

That was me on the Brioche - was just following that particular recipe - I have made Brioche quicker as well. I am making the Challah dough recipe - although substituting the vegetable oil with butter. One recipe from Breaking Breads (A New World of Israeli Baking - Uri Scheft). The author says vegetable oil is used as not to serve meat and dairy together (kosher)...But butter he thinks makes it richer and more tender crumb. Says personal choice - I am choosing butter!!!

Ohio State did not impress last night. Yes, they ended up winning but like I said a few weeks ago, they have some serious flaws which a good coach/team can exploit. Having Justin Fields (who's a huge part of their offense) hurt and semi-mobile sure didn't help either but still...

I found out there's butter and then there's BUTTER. We went to an Amish store up in KY and bought some home-made butter; Mrs. TN and I thought we had died and gone to heaven. What a huge difference over the stuff sold in the grocery stores!

Ahem...Frank, I don't think we have too many "young'uns" on the CT. Closest is RADAR, who we rarely see, and MC, who likes to hang around with us OG's cause we share lots of food pics and recipes.
Now in LaDi's and SP's own minds, they're still 24, (and man hungry). I have no idea how old AJ is, or even what he looks like, just his feet?

No, I hadn't yet done the swipe and copy thing... so it's all gone and I don't have time to start over. I'll see if I can remember some of what I was saying.

Lannie, a few posting tips:

When you compose an extremely long post, like many of yours are, before hitting "Preview Post" or "Submit Reply" buttons, Copy all the post text to your clipboard. That way, if server is acting up and doesn't post reply properly, you haven't lost your text. You can then recompose reply by simply pasting your saved text back in text box! You can also paste this into a draft word doc as backup.

Another thing that works when posting gets bogged down or returns an error is to use Browser Back Arrow, which will take you back to the compose page. Then I would definitely copy and paste into word or text doc to save until issue resolved.

It's happened to me many times on Customer Service email pages where one has to type in long messages. Now, I always copy to clipboard before submitting, just in case.

Yes - I think there is a difference in butter - Even store bought ones. European etc...

I would bet Lannie makes some terrific butter!

I have found the best butter you can buy at the super market is Kerry's Gold.
I use the cheap stuff for cooking but for steamed vegetables and the likes i use the Irish butter.

So Done with first stage of roll making.

Made the starter (30 minutes) - yeast water and flour

Mixed
Flour
Starter
50g Water
6 eggs
4 egg yolks
2/3 cup sugar
4 tbs honey
1.5 sticks butter

Kneaded for almost 30 minutes - I do not have a stand mixer capable of that type of dough. I typically let time take care of kneading. So my arms / shoulders are tired.

Rising for an hour - then divide into 24 equal pieces and roll out to 16" or so and then make a braided roll
Rise again until puffy
Bake....

Ok Doc - maybe going to the grocery store is best!

It is like

Morning all!

Marathon sewing yesterday...I think I sewed 11 coats? Also managed to get the dogs out for a walk, did a little training with them to entertain them (just a bit of conditioning on their Fitbones, tricks, etc). They were really good all day - I so appreciate this stage of life when they can hang out with me for 7 hours of sewing! Sypha's in the midst of being holtered, too.

Today I'm having coffee (maybe brunch) with my mom, sewing a little more, and then just relaxing. The long sewing day took a bit of a toll...I'm tired!

We're in for a more snow starting late tonight - supposed to get 3-6 inches. Tomorrow's commute is supposed to be nasty. Tuesday the temps drop to COLD. Very cold. Yuck.
