You crack me up!

If you only could have been a fly on the wall!

I already heard what they suggested from peeps like you, but when I explained the first theft was in April of 2018 and the power outage crap where I lost the vid (the best one) was gone, they understood. I have had two Amazon deliveries in less than a year and a half delivered. I had to explain to the second Dep that came in, I don't get that many deliveries!

Contrary to Popular belief on this thread I am a touchy kind of person, if you are clean!

Anyhow, I am satisfied with my behavior today! Someone finally took me serious.

Don't let me forget I have a date with broadcast-ed Rifleman at 2. Helps me get motivated to clean the kitchen and Guz will get her feelings hurt if I don't go out and at least try to clean her up. I'm thinking she would appreciate it if I showed up early, like 4:15.

What?

You all stop making me feel like I am gawking. Guz really needs to be tended to. Best reason I can think of to gawk!

Lovely bananas!

Mister and I disagree on bananas. He likes them all ready for banana bread and I like them not quite ready. You know. Not right!

For you, Alan

"Yes We Have No Bananas" Billy Jones 1923
Incidentally, this song is no longer under copyright even though that is what the front page says. The copyright expired January 1st, 2019

Or maybe you'd like Spike Jones' version from 1950.

So here's your obscure history lesson for the day:

The novelty song was written by Frank Silver and Irving Cohn. Frank Silver explained the origin of the song to Time Magazine: "I am an American, of Jewish ancestry, with a wife and a young son. About a year ago my little orchestra was playing at a Long Island hotel. To and from the hotel I was wont to stop at a fruit stand owned by a Greek, who began every sentence with 'Yess.' The jingle of his idiom haunted me and my friend Cohn. Finally I wrote this verse and Cohn fitted it with a tune."

The song was the theme of the outdoor relief protests in Belfast in 1932. These were a unique example of Protestants and Catholics in Northern Ireland protesting together, and the song was used because it was one of the few non-sectarian songs that both communities knew....

The term has been resurrected on many occasions, including during rationing in the United Kingdom in World War II, when the British government banned imports of bananas for five years. Shop owners put signs stating "Yes, we have no bananas" in their shop windows in keeping with the war spirit.

Yes i am being sincere!

It is a good sales technique to leave "No" out of your vocabulary and also to not be able to hear the word No There are times when i am inundated with peoples looking for work. They consist of two types A.) need a card or a signature so they can get back in line for free money and these type always ask for a job by saying You are NOT hiring anyone B,) I need to work...If i say yes they get their lunch from the driver .
Sometimes I say yes to the A. 's and reaffirm to myself that they will say" I can start next week "

I like my bananas with a tinge of green left on them!

Here let me help with this.........
Admit it guys ......you would wither and die .....if you did not have women doing whatever they do..........
Men only work .........in order to have money .............so you can buy or grow food ...........which food gives you the energy to .......attract or chase women.
So it's obvious that you men just adore us females or all of you would be loads!
Your welcome.

Not familiar with that one, but I do know that the ester which is responsible for the banana taste and smell, isoamyl acetate, was one of the first artificial flavors developed for food products...in fact, here in the US, they were using it to make banana flavored foods BEFORE bananas were produced and sold in US stores.

I'm really good in the useless fact department today!!

Anyway......is that a banana or a plantain? 'Cause if it is a plantain, it might be approaching ripeness even if it is still green.

Hmmm--topic of the day--bananas(?)

I like them with more than a touch of green and if their ripe much less overripe the dogs get them or sometimes I the dogs get them. Or the dogs get banana must (they don't care)

But my topic of the day (this is the one I posted on Saturday when DT, Windows 10 and dial up conspired to remove the post and take me off of DT entirely.)

I cheated--I borrowed a puppy to give my empty house at least one dog (a Doberman at that.) And he's a Toad grandson too. Very talkative, pretty funny and quite handsome. Not quite 6 months. Joey is what he answers to. And he's learning about cats--which is pretty funny actually.

Awww, nothing like a puppy to help when you're feeling down! How long is he staying?

Hmmm....borrowed??
Rent with option to buy? LOL

And bananas I tend to only get at Thanksgiving and Christmas, where banana cream pie is one of our traditions (mostly because I make it the easy way...store-bought graham cracker crust with a thick layer of sliced bananas on the bottom, instant banana pudding, cool whip.) It's a 5 minute fix and I get lots of compliments.

The over-ripe ones become banana bread.

Useless tidbit of the day: I finished Stephen King's 'The Institute' and it was ok, not one of his best but I enjoyed it. Now I'm about 2/3 of the way through Ship of Magic (Book 1 of the Liveship Traders series) and I have to admit, at first I didn't like it with all these new and strange characters being thrown about without any real rhyme or reason (or so it seemed at first) but now I can't put it down.
At work, customers actually have the audacity to call me while I'm trying to get some reading done. "I can't access my Outlook," "I can't log on, did my account get disabled or deleted?" "I'm having problems opening PDF documents in a web browser," or "I can't access certain folders on the share drive."
Pffft.
