Leon is better than ever. I've taken hundreds and hundreds of photos and videos of him and just did a quick scan to throw a couple on here, with so many more I need to share. These photos crack me up looking at him and the fun he had in the snow this last winter and playing catch last fall! I'll try to get more up soon!
He looks so awesome ! Love the big smile photo. Are you in the metroplex?

You haven't lived until you've been poked by a doberman.
I figured it would have something to do with their giant schnozes! Ha. I was right!! That's what was getting me to laugh out loud at work, so much so, that co-workers thought I lost my marbles and were asking what was so funny. I explained to them about the visuals I was getting about Dobe Pokes. Then, throughout the day, they would keep asking me if anyone replied to explain a Dobe Poke to confirm what I thought it might be.

I can remember when I brought my first puppy home, my GSD Nara, and she was 7 weeks old. I was working on housebreaking her so I would sleep with her on my futon in my upstairs office (our master bedroom was on the bottom floor of a 3-level house). I would get under the blankets and she would be on top of the blankets next to me. Next thing I know I would hear sniffing and feel movement, and as I open my eyes, there's this big honker nose burrowing a tunnel under the sheets, blankets and pillows until it comes nose to nose with my face. She would give me a big kiss and curl up with me and fall back asleep. That was sorta like a Dobe Poke! And here's that nose from her first pictures in Jan 2008 with a short timeline of extras:

Like Terminator X speaks with his hands, I speak with pictures.

A dobe poke is where they use their nose to poke at you, usually in inappropriate places like the backside, crotch, eyes etc. Nowhere is safe. Some dobes are more "pokey" than others, my boy is a master poker.

bluedog7 First of all he is amazingly gorgeous and very striking. Seldom see all blacks and never in the show ring but he has the Dobe bearing. How big were his parents?

Keep the pics coming. He is going to grow into a stunning looking dog for sure.

Chatty Very nice pictures. Ears look great, and his coat is nice. I must admit, I am fascinated by his lack of markings and how that happened. I'm not sure what to make of him. Thank you for sharing!!

KCFilley Wow he is growing into a beautiful healthy looking boy. I love that velcro look with you (?) on the floor. That's the true test of a Dobe in my mind. Yes, what do you polish him with or what do you feed him? Is he friendly to everyone? What about the squirrel. Does he chase the squirrels? He's definitely a handsome young boy.

HerMewMew A little JOKE:

I wonder if you mixed an all black with an albino if you would get a grey Doberman?

dicksondobe Wow, he really is beautiful, but also so weird to look at, only because I am so used to the tan markings. Congrats with the ear posting, they turned out wonderful. Keep up with the great pictures!

HerMewMew WOW his ears turned out AMAZING! Is this your first ear posting? So he is beautifully handsome as I am sure you and him both know it! I was hopeing you would put up new photos, I just couldn't wait anymore and had to ask! The squirel eating from your hand, classic Dobe enemy!

Thank you again for the new update!

triciakoontz Thanks for the updated photos. It's so much fun to see him grow up by LEAPS and BOUNDS! Love the glossy coat and the "party time" photo is classic, especially the look of innocence he is throwing at the camera!

XxIAmTheReaperxX WOW!! I had never heard of all black Dobermanns before and I have to say, he is incredible looking! It's so strange though because it's not what you're used to seeing, but he is amazing!! I'm so jealous!!
