He did very well with his stiching too. I was surprised. My sister warned me it might look a little off the first few days. But said I could relax because it would look better...lol. Which it did. He's done great so far with everything. I just hope it stays that way. I dont' think I could have picked a better breed to come into my home and join our family.

|frznbuns||by the way, the cropping and taping depends on the style of the crop. If it is a show crop long it can take several months to take. if it is a standard crop, it should not take very long with a good crop and taping.. My dog were all done at 9 to 11 weeks the first 10 days up and then the stiches came out then we left the ears without tape for a couple of days of that the ears would dryout and heal, then back up for 2 more weeks with lots of whistling and weird noises to help them want to keep the ears up.. after that we had no problems at all.. I have used this method for the last 15 dobermans that I have helped. good luck|

Welcome aboard Eva-Marie, Bruno and Oscar! They're quite the handsome pair aren't they! |
I just have to say that in your avatar how much Oscar looks like my Mitzi. I had to do a double take at first. I was wondering how she would have made it on here. lol

I'm so far loving it here. So many Doberman lovers...it's great (and gorgous dobe's on here as well) I've uploaded a newer picture of Bruno taken just yesterday. His ears are standing so nicely...I think it's almost time for the tape to stay off!!
For those that did crop their dobe's ears. How long were they taped up for?

Sure I can share about Oscar. After all my love for cats came before Dobe's lol. He's 6yrs old. His name is Oscar and he's just a cuddle bug! I love him dearly. He sleeps in my bed EVERYNITE lol. I feel lost if he's not in there with me. Up until 2yrs ago he was an inside cat. Till we moved out of an apartment building my husband convinced me it would be good for him to get outside....big mistake I think lol. But each nite I make sure he's inside...even if I have to sit up and wait!! lol...sad I know. But it's true.
Here is a few more shots of him...
That's my Oscar I sometimes get a little snap happy LOL

Hello Everyone :o)
I just joined the site. After spending a few hour's looking for a Doberman group to join. It wasn't easy! This was the first group I found that looked active
I'm a newbie to the Doberman...lol. I have my first puppy. His name is Bruno and he's just 14 weeks old! He's so cute and I will admit. I wasn't into the bred before getting him. How I got him was my sister has 2 adult dobes. This past summer she bred her female. I'd visit often to see the puppies grow. As they grew more and more I found myself falling more and more in love with the breed. So for a month or so I'd come home each time and read more and more online about Doberman's and owning one. All the research. Then I finally mentioned it to my husband. Who also decided to read into them before saying a final answer lol. So by the time Bruno was 8 weeks...we had decided that bringing a Doberman into our family was a good idea!!!
Of course the learning is never ending. He's a great dog and is SO smart. I'm very proud to walk around and say I'm the owner of a Doberman. I also have small children and Bruno gets along GREAT with them. More so my 3yr old. He's his lil bud .
Anyway I rambled your ear's off, I'm sorry LOL. I'm just so happy I found a group of Doberman owner's that's actually ACTIVE!!
