The lighting can make a big difference in how a house shows, even if you don't have any staging in place.

New Hallway with WindFresh White (Sherwin Williams)....off white no real color except a slight gray. No artwork, rugs etc...Mila modelling though

New front door area: to the left is the dining room which we made into an office other sitting area. Original was all pumpkin butter.

Looks a bit better in real life....Neutral grainy photos a bit.
I had to go back and look again.

I like pic 1 the best. I don't want to be looking at a staged area. I want to see the real deal. Just clean the clutter. That's how I bought my house. I was very fortunate and grateful that the previous owners left dishes and furniture behind.

When I took possession of the house, there was a moving wrapped piano left behind. I was hoping they left it behind on purpose. Nope! Moving dudes came to get it.

melbrod I just keep imagining this poor dentist having to stop drilling or whatever while LDi pulls out the cell phone. "Hang on, hold that position! Move that light; it's messing up the exposure. Let me turn my head a little so I can get a pic from my best angle."

02-22-2020 12:20 PM
StrykersPerson Huh.

I DO have Cuz's number! I've only talked to her once on the phone.

Maybe today would be a good day to give her a call?

Do you all think she's out of "the" chair yet?

Yes Mocha does help Frank's looks, doesn't she?

Teasing you.

I am a lucky Sis! I've got cute brothers. Here and in real life!

Lannie?

So are we like blood sisters or half sisters. Oh I forgot! We are imaginary sisters.

I will still like to know how many fathers we mutually share.

Ma?

How many times did you get married?

Oh and then there is Cuz.

And just a hint...um...to us dobe owners, staging with Mila is enough; it might even close the deal if she came with the house. But I think most prospective buyers might not think so--it may even turn some away before they actually walk in the house. Just sayin'

Well, of course I'm not quite right. My house came with a dog. See? People are so status conscious, as my Dad always says. Even though, Mom and Dad have a fancy house with no animal clutter.

I am only status conscious about my trucks, horses and Dobes!

Where is our cold farm girl Lannie?

Cuz?

Will you come clean my closets? When you feel better, of course. You know. After your major surgery.

I do similar with my practice I will change the keyboard settings from piano to organ, strings etc... Mostly so I get more practice playing the piece.

Current pieces I am trying to learn - The first 2 by Piano with Beth
New River Train https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1YTkISj7-4 can't play it anywhere near her speed

Summer Stars https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNGa7Hq9JjI

This one by Cindy (Piano) - She does a 100 x better than I can do! Amazing what kids can do.
Peppermint Rag https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mf5jF4iF2fY

Another person playing same piece - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8z1LY-TQU_w

Those were all in G Major scale. I am now also learning the F Major Scale so new songs to practice that Scale next time (Brahms' Lullaby, William Tell Overture, Prelude in F, and Everybody Ought to Know). That is if I gain enough proficiency in the current songs. Which usually I have to keep trying on a few. Such as the Peppermint Rag and New River Train were from previous lessons.

As I typed up this - had Fugue in A minor JS Bach by up and coming artist Mel Brod on loop! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8HX...ature=emb_logo
Those sound cute. I especially like rags; they're fun to play, but surprisingly harder than a lot of classical stuff somehow. I guess it depends on what style you're used to playing.

Does your teacher let (or encourage) you to listen to versions of what you're working on? Mine actually sorta discouraged it (and with no internet, the only things you could find were vinyls of concert performance pieces anyway)--I guess she thought it would affect our interpretation (or massively discourage us to hear the way something SHOULD actually sound. )

Oh, and for sure up and coming no more, if ever. My hands have gotten stiff, mostly from disuse I think--so keep playing or you'll have to go back to the beginning (not quite, but you will have to redo some of that learning).

But speaking of discouragement (which I just was, right?), listening to my son play is intimidating. He loves to rub it in even more, I think, by finding impossible pieces and bringing them to me with an " even YOU could learn this" sort of comment. I struggle with sight-reading; he's a whiz. And the more complicated pieces you play, the more they add in all of those pesky sharps and flats which don't belong in the key signature, and chords and things that are confusing at first glance (and maybe even second or third tries too--or every attempt you make, forever.)

Where is my healthy cuz?
Off to the store to get drugs for her mister ?

Drug run done!

I gave him two chances to tell me what he wants now, or forever hold his peace. He sent me for bottled water and bananas last night. He's too uppity to drink well water. Hasn't killed me yet!

His first chance was when I started my truck. Second chance after I got dressed he requested 7up. That's it! I'm out of here!

I am back home and not leaving again until Monday morning!

I am trying to make him chicken and dumplings, but his illness is jacking with my intended routine. Plus he will complain because the meal will have onions, celery and carrots in it.

OMG!
