IF I ever do get another boat, it'll be simpler than what I had before. 99% of the time, all I did was launch at the marina and then I slowly floated down the river for about a mile or two, using my trolling motor to keep me in place so I could fish the rocks and bluffs. I rarely used my fish finders; mainly used them to check water depth and temperature. I'd fish that way for a few hours to half the day, depending on the weather, and then use the big motor to take me the 2-3 miles back to the marina. Only a few times did I check out spots further up or down river...I caught almost all of my bass within 1-2 miles of the ramp while everyone else was racing up and down the river, trying to find the best fishing spots. Other people have asked me why one even needs a boat, with the big old Cumberland river right here and it's because there are really no public access areas to bank fish. It's either private property, or it's nothing but steep cliffs, bluffs and rocks so you do need a boat to fish around here...unless you want to fish really shallow, small creeks for 2-inch bluegill

Donald Trump and Melania make spectacular arrival at Daytona 500 with Air Force One flyover and race track lap in presidential limousine The Beast, as he tells NASCAR drivers to 'start your engines'

Donald Trump fired up his supporters with a visit Sunday to Daytona 500, NASCAR's most prestigious race

He took a lap in his presidential limousine 'the Beast' and delivered the line for drivers to 'start your engines'

Air Force One also flew over the Daytona International Speedway before landing with the president

Trump will also air a new ad during Fox's broadcast of the race

Around 100,000 people are in attendance at the race in Daytona Beach, Florida

Florida is a swing state that Trump won in 2016, and he and first lady Melania Trump are now residents of the state after moving there from New York

Trump is not the first Republican president to visit the Daytona 500, but he is the first to be named Grand Marshal of the event by NASCAR, and will iconically tell drivers to 'start their engines.'

Ken
I just finished that ever so depressing u-tube thing about migraines--I knew about most of it but I didn't realize it was as common as 1 out of 7--so I'd be delighted to tell you about Sam my Afghan but first I have to go see if I can find Daytona...

ABTLH

PS I'll leave you with a little (I don't know what they are called--a little thing to make you come back looking for the back story)--Afghan are regularly listed at the bottom of lists that claim to properly rank dogs in order of intellegence--and having lived with one for a significant amount of time I want to tell you that they get a real bad rap that is pretty undeserved.

Ahh....Ken, Ken, Kenny......

It's a serious topic, so I won't say anything much, but "eclectic"?? Really?

Besides, I think you may have a point--but it would depend on the kind of scan that is being done, maybe?? And I can't remember now--did it say what kind of brain scan doesn't pick it up?

Interesting that it doesn't show up on a brain scan. What in the world is going on? (rhetorical question)
Thanks, Mel. I fixed the code, too. Should have looked at my post after it went up!

It is a really weird, complex disease, and there is simply not enough research money, I think, to even begin to start looking at it the way we need to.

The GOOD thing is that there are dedicated people out there still doing stuff. We have some new drugs on the market that are really helping some people (me, included, at least so far...knock on wood). They aren't perfect, and the long-term affects are...? But considering how disabling it is, one would think that there would be a lot more push to help people, you know?

MeadowCat You guys have been really supportive about my migraines, so I have a less "lighthearted" post to share. Migraines are just not well understood, and there is a fantastic piece on CBS This Morning about migraine. It's on Youtube, so I'm sharing here. I really want to educate on this illness, and I hope that the more people who truly understand it, the more people will educate others. It's such a misunderstood disease, and it truly IS a disease. It's a very disabling, neurological illness. Not "a headache." So, as part of my mission to educate...if you're willing to take less than 10 minutes of your day to watch this video, please do.

Some key pieces I want to pull out: "More than a headache." "Second most disabling disease in the world." "No cure." "Not taken that seriously."

That's what the recipe called for.

I used to use milk, thought I would go with the flow of the original recipe, which I can't find!

It's a hot potato salad. Not cold picnic stuff you are thinking of.

Great Story Meadowcat , glad you two had a great time ! it is so much fun and rewarding to work with our dogs - I have really don't found anything better - maybe it's my age - LOL

The part about endless money and training time - I know what your saying there I would love to get another R/V - Like a class C or B - but if I had endless money - it would be a Class A ! Hit the road and go to dog shows everywhere - Enter Mr. B in some OB's or what ever and maybe even his new sister - when ever that happens .

Have a great weekend !
