StrykersPerson | Ma. You are not my favorite Mod at this moment. MC? Where are you? I need to file a complaint? She's intimidating me with donkeys liking the neighbors goat/goats crawling on said donkey. |

I call it common sense in this current not so smart decade. Not everything is at their beck and call. It's just buying some yardage from a properly folded bolt of fabric. You cut the fabric up and then sew it back together. Poof! Quilted Top! It's magic. ![]() |

And as a dog lover (especially of a "dangerous" breed like a doberman), it feels so good to be an ambassador. I was at a dog park with Capri puppy--she was probably 5 months old--and she barreled right over a three year old (I mean, who brings a 3 year old to a dog park and lets him wander around unattended?) as she tore off into the distance after something. I saw the kid start to pucker up and saw mom heading over out of the corner of my eye, so I picked him up (he wasn't physically hurt, just scared, I think) and babbled at him in a fun way about that silly puppy who just RAN RIGHT over him...KABOOM! And he giggled and that was that. The parents who rush up and start in with the "OMG, are you alright!! That MEAN dog, did he hurt you??" drive me nuts. It's just setting those kids up to be afraid of all dogs. People that I speak of, may to be technologically able to build a gate, but not know how to close it? Would they know how to change their oil? Do they even know to make sure their oil is clean? What if they were on a lonely highway and Triple A was no where to be had? Yes, I am throw a little temper tantrum here. So, here comes my rant. So, my right arm was all loaded up with my heavy coat, purse and lunch bag. I turned around, after locking the door, and there were the goats. ![]() Eating my grass that I maintain and pay taxes on. ![]() They might have caused me to be late for work. Mel, Here's an excerpt from the Pet Partners Handlers Guide, pg. 140, addressing those situations occurring with clients (persons being visited by therapy team) Essentially, report this to the facility staff. In all the facilities, we visit there is always a liasion we deal with for this situation. ------------------------------------------------------------------ "Information That Must Be Reported Only to the Facility Occasionally, in the course of your visit, you might hear or see something that could be of value to the client’s treatment. In these cases, you must report the information only to the facility, not to Pet Partners. Information that you must report includes the following: * Something that could compromise a client’s health, safety or well-being. * Something that you discover about a client’s medical or emotional condition. * Something that a client says, or something in the client’s behavior, that you feel the staff should know about." |

spocksdad | Eva StMU Visit Today Update Completed 2nd of 3 college visits today around 3PM! All went great! ![]() Eva- Perky, Snooping in Fog Upstairs This Morning Before Leaving for Event ![]() This was only Eva's 2nd group visit and her first to the St. Marys Univ. campus. Due to a handler illness, only two other teams were there. One was a male Aussie shepherd type, "Stormy" and the chocolate min poodle, "Hershey", who was at the UTSA event with Spock on Tues. Here is Instagram post with a few pics, although blurred of Eva and students. One can tell the students were really enjoying the dogs! https://www.instagram.com/p/B5tCjQBH9pW/ About (150) students dropped by to visit the dogs and just loved Eva. She was loving and affectionate throughout the long 2 hours we were on campus. We'd perform some obedience tasks and tricks with treats periodically to perk her up. Eva is surprisingly better than Spock at the group events, as he gets a little too laid back and calm! Eva stays more perky and attentive to surroundings. Eva scored some McNuggets on way home as reward! One more college visit next week for Spocko, (during finals studying). Being petted by and smelling that many people at one event is extremely fatiguing for a therapy dog, so I leave you with..... .....Miss Eva Totally Wiped Out After Getting Home!! ![]() ![]() |
