I moved your thread to our more general "Intro" section since I think more people will see it there. The subforum for different areas of the country just doesn't get a lot of views.

Hi rebecca.... |
Welcome from the Pacific NW. I am another Oregonian. I live in Portland.
Are you looking specifically for an adult rescue or would you consider a pup from a nice breeder as it seems from your post. As you may know, we have many quality and reputable breeders here in the PNW.
If you would like info on the breeder of our last three boys and most likely the breeder of our next pup, please PM me.
She is in Oregon also.

Welcome to DT from Utah! Good luck with your search for a rescue. I know there are many others on this forum that will be able to help you. Several listers here from Oregon that might know of |
I rescued a Bracco Italiano several years ago. The Spinone is the furry version of the Bracco. Loved that dog, but he was the toughest dog I have ever owned.

Hello there. I'm Rebecca and am new to the group. I've owned dobermans in the past, but have been a non-doberman owner for a few years. From what I've been reading, a lot has changed since the 70s and 80s with this breed. So I am cautious when it comes to my selection. I have owned Italian Spinone since 2002, but would like to re-home or rescue/adopt a doberman who would do well with a big ol' goofy, calm, playful fur buddy. Though totally different breeds, I've seen similarities with the two as far as how they play, bond, and characteristics. Both love to please and can be so goofy it hurts from laughing. They can get their feelings hurt if you laugh at them; and if they do something bad, it's always the other dog, cat, bird, bug, or you. They love to be in your space or business, and always want to know what you are doing - just in case they miss something fun. I've enjoyed reading the breeder reviews and referrals as I will at some point in the future seek to buy. In the meantime, I will continue my breeder research as I'm not in any hurry to buy a puppy just to buy a puppy, and hope to participate in DT forums.
