Don't do it SP, you will go over budget 2x....and learn new swear words.
- and need anger management training

Pick wisely - or SP & Alan relationship, will not survive the building erection spats.

Advise me, someone!

Mister, can do, after structure is up.

It's the preparatory $ to get the structure up

I'm guessing I need to ask Rich to make the pics bigger when he sends them to me then. They show up big on the other forum we're both on, when posted as attachments. I used to have Photobucket but they took all my pictures and I refuse to pay the ransom, so I don't have a photo hosting site anymore. I doubt the other ones are much better, and besides it would be so much work, and so much time I don't have, to move all my pictures over to another site. The attachments are easier, for me, so I'll see if I can get them to be a little bigger.

Gah, you're breaking my heart. She did that EXACT thing! I guess they all do. It must be something they learn in Dobie school.

Yeah, no thanks! I have one hairy dog already and her prey drive is high. Huskies are through the ROOF! Although I do like Huskies I would never have one with all these small animals (and poultry) on the place. Nah, I need a Dobie.

I would love to see pictures of Toad, too. I've never seen him. I'm sure there must be pics somewhere on the forum, but I've never come across one.

He's under the house. Skunks don't usually go UP. They go down. If you go around your foundation and look carefully, I'll bet you find a little access hole. Probably behind a shrub.

If you want to try catching him yourself, I can tell you a pretty safe way to do it, but you need a live trap. First, find his (or her) access hole, then set the live trap near it with a can of cat food in the back. The skunk will go in to eat the cat food, they LOVE canned cat food. Then slowly and carefully, put a tarp over the trap so IF he gets scared and sprays, it will go on the tarp and not on you. At that point, what we do is carry the trap out to an open area, tip it up and let the skunk tumble out, then shoot it. It has to be a head or a spine shot, or it will spray. If you don't want to (or can't for some reason) shoot it, just take it nice and slow out somewhere far from your house and open the front of the trap and let it go.

We had a bad skunk problem several years back (had a "she" and she had babies), so we borrowed a live trap and dispatched almost all of them. (Don't yell at me, the babies were grown up by then.) None of them sprayed while they were in the trap covered by the tarp. They just curled up and waited to be let loose. Anyway, that's what the professional guy will do, so you can pay him or do it yourself if you feel up to it.

Hey, do you have a County Trapper in your area? We called ours and he's the one who showed us what to do and loaned us the live trap. He also trapped a bunch of foxes we were having problems with as well. Then we got the dogs (the Pyrenees) and haven't had a fox problem since. We still get the odd skunk passing through, but they don't stay, so it's not a huge problem anymore. Once every couple years maybe one of the dogs will get skunked because they're STOOPID and they have to chase. Missy is the worst, and she has long hair, so it takes a bit of effort to deskunk her. Zipper, being short-coated, was easy to deodorize.

If you don't already know this, here's the formula for deskunking:

Half a bottle of hydrogen peroxide in a large bowl or bucket.
Handful of baking soda.
Big healthy squirt of Dawn dish liquid (to degrease the skunk oil)
.

Mix that together with your hand and use a rag to sop it all over the dog (or whomever) where the spray hit, then use a clean wet cloth and follow up with a clean dry cloth. It would get 100% of the smell off Zipper and it gets about 99% off Missy. Missy will still smell a bit eau d'skunk for a couple days, but it's not horrible.

Disclaimer: The above is only my advice based on personal experience and no offense is intended to anyone.
I was reading backwards and I already knew this. It's on the Kansas State Website somewhere.

It works very well!

Axel got skunked not once but twice. Dumb dog for going back for seconds.

The expression on his face after the second hit was pathetic. Like I am supposed to help you? Hows about helping me by not playing with skunks?

ECIN You tube lesson for SP ! OK SP PAT attention - this is VERY easy to do !

When you find the video you want to put on here - copy the link in the bar - the one I just posted looks like this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdR6MN2jKYs

Step one - start with [youtube] then paste your link after the [youtube]

so this is what it would look like [youtube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdR6MN2jKYs then I take the bar and put it right here in front of the R and then back space and remove till you get to the ] it will then look like this and then you have it !

OK - Lets put it all together !

this is what it will look like

Or, maybe SP's on CT "Double Secret Probation" for conspiring to provide Cuz with Doc's address, to mail defamatory "greeting" card?

melbrod You just copied pictures from one of those foodie websites. Those look too good.

I kinda like how your egg wash looks. It is more visually interesting than uniformity would be.
