dobebug Don't know how I missed this thread when it first showed up--she's a lovely girl and has matured into exactly the very good looking adult that I, for one, expected.

So a very belated congratulations to you and the Grand Dame...

Cressrb Will do, Ken. When I took Kiri up to the show and had to hand her over to her handler - and you know they are so busy with minds going many directions - I always say, "Kiri loves to be kissed on top of her head and be sure to hug her once in a while." Last time I said that, the handler just said, 'Oh, she's one of those, huh.'

Can't wait to get the Diva home.
GREAT story Cressrb !! That would have made a great video !!! lol Give the Diva a big hug for uncle Ken

Cressrb Mel, I know exactly what you are saying.
I think a lot of the difference with Euro that people are seeing is the head shape.

ECIN I hope Bonnie does - I have not a cue what your trying to say Mel

Sorry - I couldn't help myself

melbrod Just went back and looked at my post again. I think I wrote it clumsily.

To be clear, I wasn't meaning to label Kiri as Euro or overweight....just to mention that one thing we often seem to hear is folks saying is how much more solid and muscular Euros are, when they're comparing apples to oranges age, maturity (and weight) wise.

Here we see Kiri as she grew up to be--a comparison with her younger self might be a good chance to show that typical neophyte person who is complaining about American dobes how young American dobes go on to develop fully into the dobe standard of a medium sized, agile, powerful yet elegant dog.

Shoot, even that sounds funky. But I hope you can read between the lines to maybe figure out what I was trying to say???

Joan, sorry, but I won't be able to finish Kiri due to her one ear refusing to stand! She is such a kind person...and patient.

Edit my post to say WAC, NOT WAE, duh.
She really is a kind person - she lives just over an hour from me. I've boarded my dogs at her kennel many times, and we sit and talk dogs. I know she has had a rough time this past year, and last I talked to her, she is down to only one dog. I don't know if there will be any more. Hunter was her heart dog - his death was very hard on her even though he lived a good long time.
I feel privileged to call her one of my mentors and owe her so much for trusting me with Louise.

Fitzmar Dobermans Congrats - She really is lovely. I don't think Joan will be breeding anymore.... so she is one of the last of the Cha-Rish Dobermans.

greenkouki Congrats on your new Grand Champion!!!
05-17-2019 02:02 PM
melbrod Yay! Does she look a lot different to you now as a mature lady vs her younger days?

I'd love to see a show picture from earlier to compare. People talk about Euros looking different when a lot of it is that an older more mature dog is what being shown there (and they're shown with so much more weight on them too.)

The new Grand Dame

Our Kiri got her final 2 pts making her Gch Cha-Rish Mine To Imagine WAE, after a taking a year off in the show ring. Mainly because of obstruction surgery in late Spring and then just too busy to
take her. I took a few candid shots while lurking behind a huge Cottonwood tree so she wouldn't see or smell me.
