I think this needs to be the CT theme song? Unless, Portland John is going to have a fit and it insist that it be his silly song. I say the First Five Members Club should decide which theme song we should keep or change. Since Portland John is MIA, who wants to step up to the plate and fill his spot?

That's his thing. He's a general contractor and a damn good one if I do so say myself. And, I ain't just talking chicken coops! He's El Perfecto when he's building and painting, deconstructing and reconstructing.

That would be great!!! I am almost finished demoing the shower stall. Just the pan left. Took me forever, worried I would whack something behind, so cut in smaller pieces. And I am not used to such work hands, back and particularly my shoulders (since they hurt from frozen shoulder) all hurt.

But definitely would be easier if I knew what I was doing....but giving it a go. Hopefully when I get it all out the new shower fits...

What the heck are you talking about!! East Coast West Coast! The DT clock says what time it is...as Mel is permissible I grant you the same . I will like you anytime you get out of bed

I understand the cancel the work order , call and make a new and will come back. Your logical thinking will only confuse them...quietly cussing and then increase the volume should help you keep things straight

melbrod Pbbtt on Century Link.

I didn't have a really good experience with them. They tried to sell me their service and misrepresented their speed as being a lot faster than it actually was, by changing the speed units--megabits (abbreviated Mb) vs megabytes (abbreviated MB) on the contract. Mega bytes are 8X faster, but they kept insisting they were the same thing in spite of knowing that speed was our MAIN concern with our internet service, and our direct questions about which units they were using. Of course, they got right out there and installed everything and set up a 2 year contract before I realized what they were doing. It took me a lot of time and calls right up the line before I could get them to cancel and not charge me ANYTHING for their fraudulent practices.

In fact I had to practically threaten them with fraud (I had lots of proof that is what they were doing---the salesperson, customer service, and their technical people had all repeated me the same line--and I had documented it carefully.)

Anyway, if you're not playing online MMO computer games, speed for most people is probably not that big a deal at today's speeds and I'm thinking Century Link may be cheaper? And if that's what you can get, that's what you can get. It just left a bad taste in my mouth. In fact (not to sound wealthy or anything), I sold my stock in their company and bought Comcast after my experience. I'm SURE it made a BIG difference to them *sarc*

It may have just been our local people anyway. It's a cut throat business around here.

Your east coast time is three hours removed from west coast time. So I don't feel at all guilty about lolling around in bed, half awake for an extra 1/2 hour (5:30-6:00am) I'm trying to keep the Joey the loaner puppy on a schedule (doesn't seem to be an easy job since the cats refuse to give up daylight savings time and want me up on their schedule).

Again I'm in the library--Century Link guy arrived as scheduled yesterday afternoon and it turned out that what with being shuffled from one person to the next when making the appointment to have high speed interned put in and no matter how specific I was about what I wanted the order that the installer arrived with was Discontinue phone service (no--not what I wanted--I have Century Link phone service and wanted the special package they were advertising to add Internet. ##%$#@[email protected]#*^! The installer finally recommended that I start over--he cancelled the order I place. Today I get to call back and start over.

I'll update you as I hear (and as I get to the library--good thing it's close and I like libraries).

I'm sorry you took it that way! I certainly don't feel that way, but it's okay for people to have the whole range of emotions. Days of feeling happy, days of feeling sad...it's only when you feel outside the normal realm that it's worrisome. Many people seem to think it's not normal to ever feel sad, and that's simply not true. I hope you're not implying that viewing a video would make someone feel suicidal... ! Because, that's just not the case.

This music video simply says the world can be a strange place. It also says how beautiful it can be. To me, that's the mystery of our world.

I don't mean to be defensive, but...please don't think that people who listen to certain types of music necessarily are depressed, or that watch certain movies, or have a "dark" sensibility are in need of help. That doesn't mean we shouldn't share resources for those that do, but...we all know that what you see on the "outside" does not in any way the inside. That's all.

spocksdad Good morning everyone!

Feelin' good this morning, successfully completed our 2-weeks of Dobe Therapy events, culminating with Eva attending school district awards last evening!
Details in later post, with some pics.
(that's the LaDi technique, known as a "teaser")

Right now, I had this idea for a new CT list!
(with the help of the Advanced Search feature)

Instead of the normal bullet list, characterizing members, let's have the CT members speak for themselves, in their own words!

ECIN Good morning everybody . Boy was yesterday afternoon a -- a , well I don't know how to say this without using bad words ! Anyway - needed to go to town to get some things . First stop was a Dollar General - I hate going there this time of year - matter of fact - I hate going anywhere this time of year - glad it's a short one ! Then had to get gas for the 150 or was going to be pushing it sooner than later ! Then to my all time favorite place to stop ----------------- Wal Mart ! lot was full of course - but some very nice person backed out of a spot right up front and I took it

Now I have a story ! First off - I'm NOT making fun of anybody's disabilities = maybe mentality challenged ! But as I was waiting for a What looked like a mother and son go past so I could get out on the next Aisle - the guy was just singing and talking to himself - as he pasted by me - he looked right at me and said -- I'm not right ! and then turned his head and started singing again - well he made me grin - as I thought about all of us on the chicken tread ! I came home and told the little lady about what had happened - she looked at me and asked , what did you say to him ? I replied nothing - she said that surprises me - I figured you said well I'm not either ! Then I have thought about that all night and have laughed and laughed at the Mrs. I guess she knows me to well as well as you all on here .

Then after I got my stuff it was off to the check out line - of course - the line I picked had trouble with something - so as I backed the cart out to go to anther line - as I turns the cart - the front end caught a stupid stand they put right in the way ! The sign came crashing down as well as what appeared to be big round penny banks that were now rolling every where - I picked up the sign so I could get out of there then gave a few of the banks a kick and moved into the new line - funny thing ? nobody even looked at me ! Or the banks rolling around .

I had got 2 cases of bottled water and had them stacked on top of each other for the trip home -Thank God ! I was out of that mess ! The road I come home on is a little curvey - and just so happened Petty was on the radio ! Runny down a dream at that - I never give it a thought as I taking the curves a little quick - and then heard something crash in the back seat - Ken thought , wonder what that was ??? When I got home , opened the back door on the 150 - I found that the top bottle water had fell off the bottom one - when I was playing Mario ! Well anyway - it landed on one of the loafs of bread I got ! Talk about flat ! lol

Kadin helped me carry everything in - he is such a good Doberson ! And so glad to be back home !

Gotta' thank Lannie and Ken for the sacred recipes--I'll be careful to not pass them along. They both look like my cup of tea (?--um my kind of cassarole I guess) and I'll give you reports on the end results--I'm working my way through a scalloped potato and sausage number right now and have a batch of split pea soup scheduled for next week.

ABTLH
Oh, AB, Rich divulged a few more tidbits on his "secret meatloaf" yesterday that I'll pass along in case you need them. Seasoning, he uses lots of onion and garlic powder, and of course salt and pepper, to taste. The texture of the meatloaf should be loose but not sloppy. So that you can mound it in the pan but it doesn't collapse on itself. Not the firm kind of meatloaf that most people make (including me!) - this one is looser. I don't know, I think it cooks better that way, and it's tender and moist when it's done. He uses more or less crackers or eggs to get the right consistency, but of course you can make it any old way you like.

I got VERY little sleep last night. For some reason, the little runt kitten (the last one we brought in) decided to sleep ON me last night. He perched himself on my shoulder and went to sleep, so I couldn't move without waking him up. He has a rough time breathing with his massively stuffy nose, and the only time his breathing quiets down is when he's asleep and I think he breathes through his mouth then. Anyway, I have to move a lot during the night or I stiffen up, and of course, since I was awake most of the night from 11:00 to 3:00, I had to get up and pee TWICE! Of course THAT woke him up each time, poor little guy.

I've been doing an experiment on some of the other cats by mixing some turmeric powder into canned food for them each morning. There's a small group of them, four or five, that love their morning treats and have it every day, and they are clearing up! I found out turmeric is exceptionally effective against Herpes simplex virus (in the lab, anyway), and since that's what the vet says they all have, I decided to try it in small doses to see if it made any difference, and it seems to be working. Little Cubby doesn't partake of the canned food, though, I think because he can't smell it. He knows the kibble is food, so he eats plenty of that, but I'm going to have to start making a slurry and using an oral syringe on him, I think. Anything to make his breathing easier. He uses all of his energy just to pull each breath in when he's awake. I'm still not 100% sure he's going to make it all the way to adulthood, but we're giving it our best shot. He's actually started playing with things the last few days, which is a good sign. His favorite toys are fur balls from under the furniture, and any little scrap of feather or tiny pebble he finds on the floor. All the cat toys Rich bought them, and he plays with pebbles... cats, whaddya gonna do?

Anyway, the other cats that have been getting the turmeric are much better. They still sneeze, but not those horrible minutes-long sneezing fits they used to have, and they've stopped sneezing out huge snotgurgles and getting bloody noses from all the sneezing. It's just a regular sneeze now, and no more bloody noses. Now if I could just get ALL the cats to take their medicine, we might finally be able to beat this.

(The above statements have not been approved by the FDA and are not intended to treat, cure, or prevent any disease. ) And everything else is, of course, my opinion only, based on my personal experiences in life.
