4x4bike ped Hi there Hunter! And welcome from the Pacific NW.

So.... Yeah, what the above folks have said ^^^. Ideally a Doberman pup should remain with its dam and sibs until at least 8 weeks. My last 2 were 10 weeks when we grabbed them.

Well... What's done is done.
Definitely a vet visit ASAP. AS G_R said, don't abruptly change foods. AS triciak indicated,
your little boy will probably be much needier and a bit more difficult when training the puppy basics. Please be prepared to spend the extra time and effort.

I know, 2 -3 weeks does not seem like a long time. But it is 1/3 or more of your puppies life at this point.

Please come back with any questions or concerns. DT has a wealth of knowledge, both in past threads and current members.

Portland OR

Edit to ask.... Puppy's name?

triciakoontz Puppy needs a vet visit ASAP! Worms are HIGHLY LIKELY in a puppy sold at this age.

You will need to provide a lot of extra support for this pup because it was taken away from the litter too soon. Here’s a good article to explain why:

Please keep us posted- we only want the best for the puppy and you! Lots of great advice here.

Gretchen_Red Welcome. In most states it's illegal to sell a puppy before 8 weeks. Feed whatever the breeder was feeding until you find a good food. I like Purina Proplan large breed puppy.

LadyDi Welcome from Florida.
Congrats on your new puppy.
We have quite a few new folks joining this forum lately.
Many with new puppies or getting one soon.
Yeah...if you read up on it will find articles about things that happen between mama dog and pups those entire 8 weeks.
There are some crucial stages ...are you sure the age is 6 weeks?
Anyway ...I want you to know you are welcomed here ........and we love puppy pictures.....bragging and boasting is encouraged.
These dogs are great companions.
PIC’s please.......

greenkouki Why do you have a 6 week old puppy? Puppies need to be left with the rest of their litter until they are at least 8 weeks old, as is required by law in many states. Your puppy missed out on a cruicial period of socialization taking him away so soon. Feed whatever the breeder fed for at least another month. Has he been seen by a vet?

Just got my Dobie. He is 6 weeks old. Wondering what the best food to feed him is. He is on diamond but was curious about the Merrick brand
