Beaumont67 PapaBear back from Andrews
- he sanded his training wall, and dad instructed him on priming.
- mini basement water problem, got drainage experts scheduled for next week
- have to bust up the basement washroom, remove shower stall...
- some idiot used the only floor drain, for the shower
- Property Insurance wants a "back flow valve" installed...within 2 months
- so many old armature screw ups, to make right

Former JJ wasn't reliable (weekend party focused) // now carpenter Johnny showing similar signs of lazy (late start/early quit) - I think its the younger generation,
new "lack of" work ethic.
- nobody wants to work, even 40 hours a week anymore & extra on weekends
- so start at 10:30 instead of 8 o'clock
- no wonder they still renting a house, and dream of being big business or property owners

When we bought our 1st house / Beau held down a 40 hour Technical job plus Sat/Sunday doing body work (on farm), was a no brain'er...going 60 hours/week, to get ahead.

I've already told the entire world I have an antenna on top of my house. Channel 159 will never exist for me again if I have to pay for it.

Ma! Please come home! MBHBro's are misbehaving!

Where is BeauBear?

Just because I got real internet doesn't make me much less of a Luditte--I only get over the air TV--no dishes for me.

Kenny all I can remember is that it was a single engine plane and it's model started with an S but I'll watch for it--they show little dabs of previous shows at the beginning and end of the main program--and the gave the name and manufacturer of the the plane yesterday too.

I know peroxide mixed with dish soap and another ingredient is a very effective cleaning agent for a skunky dog. You can find it on the K-State website. Had to utilize it twice with Axel.

It worked best the first incident. He didn't get a direct hit.

Direct hit second time was a hard one.

Got to keep the concoction away from their eyes and nose and dispose of the leftovers as it is combustible when stored. He stunk up the house for 2 straight months with just his face stinking!

We live and die it the clinic with hydrogen peroxide--buy it by the six pack--set up the bottles with spray caps and use it on all the surgical drapes and towels. We treat anything that has blood on it and then wash it with a heavy dose of OxiClean and the blue Chlorox laundry detergent--makes stuff that you thought was only going to be good for throwing away look like new.

Who won the race? Maybe it's not over yet? I surely don't know.

But, what I do want to know is, Why haven't we seen pics of the Mrs?

Is she camera shy?

Missy was out yesterday, doing her perimeter patrols, and evidently cut her left hind foot really bad on some ice. I suspect she was chasing another rabbit and wasn't watching where her feet were going. Anyway, I let her back in a while later, then saw smudges of blood on the kitchen floor and panicked, wondering who was hurt. Then I saw more on the living room carpet (Missy was on the couch). Then I noticed Missy was licking one of her feet. I got her off the couch and blood was POURING out of her foot. OK, not pouring, but it was bleeding pretty good. I tried to see what she'd done, but no way no how will she ever let me touch her feet, so all I could discern was there was blood coming from between her outside toe and the one next to it. I did manage to feel enough to see her toenails were still there (I thought maybe she'd ripped one off).

By then, I'd "looked" at her enough that she was suspicious, and every time I glanced her direction, she'd get up and move. At first, I was going around with a cloth wetted with cold water, blotting up the blood on the floor (and the couch), but she kept moving and I finally gave up. She eventually retreated to the bed (OMG, but oh well, the blankets will wash), but she kept licking the damn thing and it wouldn't stop bleeding. Finally, it did, but it took like an hour, maybe more.

When I didn't see any more blood being tracked, I started trying to blot up the several hundred bloody spots on the carpet, but I had to stop (my knees won't allow me to stay on the floor that long). Meanwhile, several hours had now passed, and Missy needed to go out again. I said OK, but BE CAREFUL, and of course she didn't listen. I let her back in a few minutes later (it was just a quick pee trip) and she'd managed to open that thing up again, and it was bleeding even worse than the first time. It looks like we slaughtered a pig in the living room. She didn't go out again until just before bedtime, and THAT time she managed to come back in uninjured, and this morning, it's closed up and she's not bleeding anymore. Sheesh. But all the blood.

I think I'm going to mix up some Oxi-Clean to dab the spots with. It might save me some time on the floor. But then there will be all these little clean spots. Then I'll have to shampoo the carpet, which I wasn't going to do until the weather warms up enough to open the windows (should be several more months yet). I guess it depends on whether I can get used to spots on the floor. Maybe I can ignore them? I dunno.

It's always something here...

So last night I was looking for something to watch after the early evening news. Last year about this time I found (on one of the back channels on over the air TV ) a short series of one hour programs on car restorations--most of them were racing types but they were taking beat cars that had been classic--stuff they found in behind the trailer park or in the old barn--and restoring them.)

So the one I found is now called Ultimate Restorations (it's on PBS here) and it's evidently a series because last week when I was looking for something to watch I found them restoring a WWII plane--a fighter I think and of course I can't remember what kind it was but a pretty rare one even during WWII. This week they were restoring a steam locomotive--the Sierra 3--evidently well known because it was used for years by the movie folk in westerns. I think the shows are hour long but I came in in the middle and they had this steam locomotive stripped down to it's frame and were starting to put it back together. They had rebuilt the whole steam plant and were testing the boiler for leaks (first couple of tries it leaked everywhere). I find this kind of stuff fascinating so I'll be watching more of it.

I know that one of the programs is a restoration of a steam clipper--man those ships were BIG. Anyway--that's my news of the week on TV.

StrykersPerson No chance in hell I can watch that race, I don't think.

No fancy TV channels around here!

Enjoy your race!

See you all later. Running errands and picking up a dog gate. I am going easier on the pocketbook. I have decided Pepper will be confined to the hall bathroom. Going the cheap route. Mister says it's cruel. Told him people put their dogs in crates all day while they are at work. I am not shutting the bathroom door and I will leave the stereo on for her. She will have her dog bed and a bowl of water. The crapping in my house has got to stop.
