Hey, MC, I've got a suggestion for how you can expand your business: "Jersey cows in jumpers (that's English for sweaters, folks) ready for a dairy Christmas" https://www.fwi.co.uk/farm-life/phot...airy-christmas I bet Lannie would buy your first few. |

It's an ad. HI ALL!!! Honestly, SP, with all the complaining about catching up you've been spouting, I figured you thought this thread (or the people in it) was getting too difficult. Hence "ONEROUS--(of a task, duty, or responsibility) involving an amount of effort and difficulty that is oppressively burdensome" It is entirely your own fault if you want to apply the label to yourself. I certainly never did (at least not in so many words--but then I am capable of discretion, unlike some here.) |

I'm still not EVEN close to catching up here! I am 2.5 days away. I re-visited the work calendar and was pleasantly relieved that I miscalculated which Sunday I was working. Yippie! I get one weekend day off! |

I'm telling you, Mister works side jobs and undersells himself. He is quality work through and through no matter what he's doing. I am very proud of him. Tomorrow is his Birthday. Suppose I will have to be nice to him. Brought him home a case of Red Stripe, handed it to him said Happy early Birthday and handed him the box. Then I had to scurry to the bathroom. That's what he gets for saying to me, "Happy Birthday old lady." I am only two months older than him. ![]() |

I have to go to piano lessons which I have not done too much with this go around. Also to Lowes to buy a reciprocating saw or similar to get the shower stall out. I started last night. Sliding door and frame is out. Studs found and used jigsaw and channel locks to make a big hole around the plumbing. Took forever. Thus need the saw. Hope by end of weekend shower will be out and area cleaned up and begin fitting in the new one. And the problem with all this is - I have not really done this so will be an experience. Pbbtt on Century Link. I didn't have a really good experience with them. They tried to sell me their service and misrepresented their speed as being a lot faster than it actually was, by changing the speed units--megabits (abbreviated Mb) vs megabytes (abbreviated MB) on the contract. Mega bytes are 8X faster, but they kept insisting they were the same thing in spite of knowing that speed was our MAIN concern with our internet service, and our direct questions about which units they were using. Of course, they got right out there and installed everything and set up a 2 year contract before I realized what they were doing. It took me a lot of time and calls right up the line before I could get them to cancel and not charge me ANYTHING for their fraudulent practices. In fact I had to practically threaten them with fraud (I had lots of proof that is what they were doing---the salesperson, customer service, and their technical people had all repeated me the same line--and I had documented it carefully.) Anyway, if you're not playing online MMO computer games, speed for most people is probably not that big a deal at today's speeds and I'm thinking Century Link may be cheaper? And if that's what you can get, that's what you can get. It just left a bad taste in my mouth. In fact (not to sound wealthy or anything), I sold my stock in their company and bought Comcast after my experience. I'm SURE it made a BIG difference to them *sarc* It may have just been our local people anyway. It's a cut throat business around here. |

dobebug | Between you and AJ, Lady Di--on the west coast it's about 5 to 6 am when you guys are getting up and nagging the rest of us--claiming that we are "slugabeds" (get Mel to translate that for you). Your east coast time is three hours removed from west coast time. So I don't feel at all guilty about lolling around in bed, half awake for an extra 1/2 hour (5:30-6:00am) I'm trying to keep the Joey the loaner puppy on a schedule (doesn't seem to be an easy job since the cats refuse to give up daylight savings time and want me up on their schedule). Again I'm in the library--Century Link guy arrived as scheduled yesterday afternoon and it turned out that what with being shuffled from one person to the next when making the appointment to have high speed interned put in and no matter how specific I was about what I wanted the order that the installer arrived with was Discontinue phone service (no--not what I wanted--I have Century Link phone service and wanted the special package they were advertising to add Internet. ##%$#@[email protected]#*^! The installer finally recommended that I start over--he cancelled the order I place. Today I get to call back and start over. I'll update you as I hear (and as I get to the library--good thing it's close and I like libraries). ABTLH |
