That's what I had been doing. She had only been shown 4 other times. I figured "why put a lot of money into a young puppy showing it?" Boy was I wrong lol.

At our doberman specialty on Thursday Kya went Best of Breed for a 5 point major over 9 specials from the 6-9mo class. It was only her 4th show! She was expertly handled by the amazing Clint Livingston and looked gorgeous and was put up by breeder judge Joseph Smith. I'm not sure how to post photos any longer but I wish I could because she looked amazing!

She also got another 3 point major on Sat. after getting Best of Winners under Dr. Andrea Bradford.

At just under 9mo. Sharjet's Heavenly Image @ Joric has 9 points and both majors towards her champion.
She looked SO good. Major congrats!

Gretchen_Red Oops.

melbrod I like the last one too. And all of the shots of them snoozing together.

But you have a blank spot with this caption..."Kya's version of cuddling and personal space:"

Kya's version of cuddling and personal space:

Mav refuses to lose at tug even to the point where he falls asleep lol:

Mav and his chuck-it lol

This is ultimately my fave pic of Mav. Yes he's snoring in mama's arms, mouth wide open, dead asleep. Not much in life is better than this.

9 months... Wow how time flies.

I am guessing that Mav must be about 2 yo these days. (I'm probably off by a year). LOL Hows that handsome boy doing.

And G?.

Best to you and your babies.

John
Mav is a momma's boy (to his detriment lol) and he will be 3 in December (time DOES fly). I love him to pieces and he was there with us the entire time. I wanted to do a professional photo shoot after bc I want amazing non-cell phone pix to remember my time with my babies. We actually just took the IPO I but we failed. I figured we would but I wanted to see where we were since it was my first time. We did however get the highest score in tracking of the day with a 96! He also got a great compliment from the judge saying that his send out was one of the best she's seen. We will keep improving and trial again in the spring.

G is doing amazing. She gave us a scare around Halloween when she was bitten by a rattlesnake. We spent many hours at the vet and annoyed them so much they let G's owner take her home a day early. It's crazy how much her blood pressure and stress levels would go down when we would lay with her in the emergency room. Such a dobe, they really do need their people. But I brought the dogs over last Monday and they all played and you almost can't tell she was ever bitten. Thank the lord. They are so in love with G that they have been looking for another "older" dog to adopt and it looks like they may have found one out of Texas. A 6mo. old male who's quite handsome but didn't work out in the show ring. Hopefully it works out for them.

1. I enjoy handlers that don't freak out when they have to run ring to ring showing dogs. It's very stressful but Clint and Karen act like it's no big thing and walk into each ring like it's their first time in the ring that day and like they have all day to show off their beautiful dogs.

2. I have a pic of Kya, who had just met Clint and she's looking up at him lovingly like he's the best thing since Bullysticks. I walked over once and found Clint holding her, and Karen giving her a little puppy massage. I can appreciate other people pampering my dogs like I do.

I would say the only downfall is that they are very busy! As you can imagine they would be with top show dogs and children as well. I contacted Clint many times and didn't hear back. I thought "dang, he must not think Kya's good enough". Nope just busy, so don't take it personal if you kind of have to keep reaching out.
Good to know! They are on my short list of people to reach out to when I'm ready to start this leg of the journey so I'm glad that someone here has a review (and a positive one no less) of them! And it makes total sense on why they are so busy!

Thank you! She is. And more importantly she's also kicking butt out on the IPO field, the decoys are LOVING her! She's also one of the sweetest dogs I have ever owned. To say she's the total package, would be an understatement! I'm taking out an ad in the Doberman Network December edition so keep an eye out!
