Instead of "All Advertisements are removed from the Forum for your browsing pleasure"
I think we should say "Most" advertisements are removed.
What you all say?

THX...We could do that at our end...I think it may be already a sticky but I didn't check to see if we had closed it??? |
Could you take a look at the first post and see if it is all still accurate and if you can think of anything that might need to be added there??

I normally just go by the advertising page - https://www.dobermantalk.com/payments.php |
I could re-post the link you sent as a sticky and not allow posting on it if you like?

Thanks for your feedback........I get snarly when I have to wade through too many ads....it seems to be the thing everywhere these days. *sigh* I appreciate your explanation. |
Oh, and thanks for the info about membership and the ad thing. I'd hate to tell people the wrong thing about membership because I didn't understand it right in the first place.
I know we have this sticky about membership upgrades, but it's fairly old https://www.dobermantalk.com/site-ne...ite-perks.html To other mods......is there an updated one? Has any of this changed or does something need to be added?? Maybe we could repost it without the comments about renewal/charging problems...that's all old stuff too?

The membership payment is "Less Advertising" not "No Advertising" so it's not going back on a promise. I still agree with you that the ad was intrusive, we were told it was an issue with whatever coding the ad used wouldn't remember the that user had seen it and would keep popping up. This was corrected and the ad was taken down shortly after. I also only think the ad was supposed to show to only non-registered/not logged in members so I think there was an issue there as well. Either way, we apologise for any inconvenience caused. |

It's not good business to alienate people who have paid for memberships, in part to avoid pop-up ads, by going back on your promises and running pop-ups anyway. Even if "the campaign ends tonight, so you won't see it again after that". |
Will there be another campaign like this one? Is this the camel's nose under the tent?

|Rosemary||I'm on two other Vertical Scope forums, all with basic free memberships, but DT is the only one where I'm getting the ad.|

I use ABP (Ad Blocker Plus) in its most recent version. Unless I white list a site or check the option box allowing certain "less intrusive ads' i get no pop ups. |
In the last 2 years, ABP has negated about 300,000 pop ups. I whitelist certain sites that make it difficult to use when an a blocker is engaged. Kelly Blue Book, for example.

This campaign ends tonight when the timer runs out, so you wont see it again after that. |

|greenkouki||Yep, all the sudden out of the blue. I thought ads were just for visitors not registered users so maybe there's something going on that shouldn't be.|

|melbrod||Me too....I was just wondering the same thing.|

I guess they REALLY want us to try Prime. |
But yeah, super annoying.

Pop up ads?
Why the heck is there an Amazon Prime pop up ad on the site? I shouldn't be seeing any at all....I know others have been getting them, too.
