|melbrod||I think my problem is since they changed over...at least I didn't use to have that problem. (Except a long time ago with Safari...but I think that was the browser's fault.)|

Used to use Firefox as my browser (many years ago now) but when I changed computers (old one 'ate' it's hard drive and committed suicide) I could never use Foxfire so I'm still using Internet Explorer as I have never been able to get Google to give me an account or let me use their browser.
The joy of being a Luddite...I'm waiting for the across the street neighbors youngest kid to get a job in Portland--she's an IT genius and has the degree to prove it but got snapped up by a Seattle firm as soon as she graduated. Then I'll just hand her the computer and tell her "Make it work!"
Probably what I've needed all along instead of messages from the computer to me..

Not sure if this is related....but I haven't been able to copy over or display youtube using Chrome....Firefox works just fine with the same code format.
Check the difference of this same post on Firefox vs Chrome.

I just tried to send a further update and got this back when I tried to send it: |
THIS PAGE CAN'T BE DISPLAYED (in blu)
Turn onTLS1.0m TLS1.1, and TLS1.2 in Advanced settings and try connecting to https://dobermantalk.com again. If this error persists this site uses an unsupported proocol or cipher site such as RC4 (link for details)[this is in blue--but doesn't open for me], which is not considered secure. Please contact your site administrator.
And below is a tag which says: Change settings
I don't even know how to do what this message tells me to do? HELP PLEASE!!!!!

This one of yours repeats on everything and even though I know what the "danger" is because I've opened other messages like this nothing that has been a live link for other sites seems to be live for yours.

- because I didn't have a way of getting a message to someone on the inside of DT
For such problems, an admin email address should be accessible / without logging in ... to send a general inquiry to.
- this would help some members, find a solution / to password errors, when site program is updated
- and system glitches, still exist
- please advise

It's irritating because it slows my already very slow computer (I'm dial up) and other tags I've seen like that show up occasionally when I'm opening something I've selected directly from the internet.

Is this why every post I open has a flag saying that only secure (something) will be shown--or something like that? |
And the part of the tag that says "what is the rik won't open for me--is that how it's supposed to work?

Important Security Update!
We are happy to announce we are improving security across our network and adding Secure Sockets Layer or SSL to the site. This means going forward you'll see Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS); the secure version of HTTP, the protocol used to send data between your browser and the website that you are connected to. This means all communications between your browser and the website will have another layer of encryption. We take the security of your data seriously so updates like this do happen from time to time. There is no downtime or major issues anticipated in this change. If you do notice anything about the site operating not as it should please make sure we are the first to know. You can send a PM to this account with details and we can investigate. Thanks, and if you have any questions about this let me know.
