Well Cressrb ---- The Judge may have a good point there --- Every time I see her in a pic - she is ??? Not moving - just standing there looking pretty -- lol
Just kidding with ya
Oh I can relate - sort of - farm related - of course Many moons ago -- many -- I spent a summer on the show circuit - showing Angus Heifers I had - 2 very good gals - they were 2 day shows for the most part - one day a open show - the other was a Angus futurity show - Got to meet a lot of new friends that summer - most showed up at all the shows -- Around 24 heifers in my class --- On the open shows - we came in at 2nd at most shows - there was one - we just could not beat - but she was better ! The next day -- the Angus show ??? any where from 18th to 22nd - lol Along with the girl that beat us the day before - lol Learned a lot that summer about policites - lol
Great job Cressrb !

For sure you have to develop a thick skin to show conformation! There is enough wiggle room in our very well written standard for judges to have their preferences .... it can make you crazy though!! |
I've had about 3+ years off from the breed ring, and will hopefully be reentering it this fall.... the 3 year break was not a bad thing - haha.

You have to remember I lost all my photos when my computer crashed. I still have trouble even saying that. |
I tried taking pic's of her in Group. I was too far away and it was too dark in the building. But, here is one such
as it is.

Thx for the lol this morning, John. |
Gotta remember the breeder judges that Kiri got her big wins.

Provisional judge?!? Dissing Kiri!?! |
Get a rope! LOL

Melbrod ~ No! Just the long week of shows. I don't want to send Kiri out with a handler so we will wait until a next local cluster again. In the fall for sure, but maybe an Idaho or Montana show. |
Yes, Rosemary and that really messes some newbies up. They cannot understand the discrepancy. I did find out that judge was a provisional.
Dobe_Mom, I am very pleased. You just think, oh only two lousy pts and it would be over.... But, some go to the same amount of work and win nothing and never cry about it, but you see them
forge on next time.
Here is a pic of Kiri and her handler Lydia who has been battling cancer and chemo all winter and is an inspiration to all of us, especially me.
Such a strong lady that never quits.

I would call that a very successful show weekend, in spite of that rogue judge's opinion. Congratulations. |
I haven't done a show update post of my own for a long while, we have been out quite a bit.

When you say showtime is over, do you mean no more conformation, at all???????? |
Or just that this group of shows is done?

Showtime is over
Kiri finished the weekend by doing nothing more.
For those acquainted with the fickleness of the conformation ring, after such a great two wins, the judge the next day said in her estimation Kiri had every fault in the book and absolutely
could not move. And, for anyone starting out ' Never let that discourage or trip you up' If you know the standard of the breed and you know your dog, you just press on.
So, two more Gr. pts to go. She passed her WAE, and the echo was done on Saturday and at this time looks excellent.
Next plan with her is to start Nose work and get a title there and get her ROM. That is our hope. It fits her name Char-Rish Mine To Imagine.
