Wow, in 20 minutes so many people's livelihoods were wiped out. That is sad.

Cressrb Hello everybody. I am back from the Outback and beyond. Did ya miss me? TN so sorry to hear Mocha has not been well. We can't have that. Doc, your little Miss Evie is just gorgeous.
I haven't really caught up with all the news. We were at the cabin off grid for two weeks. I took one shower in all that time. It still boggles my mind. Two of my sons flew in and really hit it hard.
I thought I may have permanent hearing loss with the generators running all day. A lot accomplished. Windows and doors trimmed inside and out. Tongue and groove put up in some places and
stairs to the loft. Soffits all around. Gable log siding put up. Back door stairs. Now Rich wants to go back this weekend and do more. We got back Monday and I slept 24 hrs around the clock!

Rich's only sister passed away while we were gone. Funeral which was delayed happened yesterday. Drove 12 hrs RT to make it. It had to be done outside, but was a lovely setting, although sad.

We took Kiri to vet today for xrays. More bad news, she is not pregnant. I think our next step is to get a second thyroid done on her, thru MSU this time and then breed her to our own Bodhi and
if that doesn't work, we will probably have to let it go.

Will see if I have more pic's later, but here is a picture of the 'crew' I had working for me. I would highly recommend them.

Yeah all her other levels are in the normal range. Only ALT is slightly elevated. The doc today said that can also be caused by inflammation/irritation in the gastro-intestinal tract...look at me throwing out big medical terms

I *think* that last IDX thing may be a priority biopsy reading with digital results at a reference lab with specialist pathologists, which will give you quicker results—at least I know there is an IDEXX reference lab that does that kind of stuff. Maybe??

Best of luck in Mocha's tests and hope your wait for results isn't very short.
I'm hoping with all these tests, they can either figure it out or at least narrow it down far enough for treatment.

Like the doc said, there's no visible cancer and the liver still looks healthy, so now all we have to do is pinpoint what's irritating her system and get it under control once and for all.

Bad news is, they suggested we do a Gi panel (TLI, PLI, Cob, FOL - Texas A&M), ultrasound guided liver biopsy, endoscopy upper GI, CSU liver biopsy panel, and a priority biopsy w/ desc 2(IDX) (no idea what that last one is, but the cost is $383.17.

Well not really bad news. Bad news financially, maybe, but like I told the doc, I just want to find out once and for all what's going on with this girl. If you guys remember, she's never had a totally solid stool her entire life...the best we've ever been able to get it was maybe a 4 from 1-5.

The doc is leaning towards copper storage disease, or something in her gut (I can't remember if she said hepatitis?) which is causing her liver to also act up. Of course I'm no doc but I don't think it's copper storage because the denamarin she was taking did absolutely nothing to bring her ALT levels down.

And yes, we have pet insurance but her elevated ALT levels are listed as a pre-existing condition. IF the doc can delicately word the claim form to avoid elevated ALT levels and make it sound like something intestinal, we can get 90% back. If not, then, well, it's gonna hurt LOL

Honestly, yeah this is going to cost, and maybe we have to foot the entire bill but the bottom line is getting that girl healthy, and that's it.

So they are keeping her and will do the biopsies this afternoon, and we can pick her up tomorrow morning.

ECIN Thanks for the update TN ! Glad nothing showed up on the scan !

There are lots of ways to control Copper Storage , Ali was on pretty much a no Copper diet made by Hills and there is another one - She was also on Denamarin and Zinc Gluconate , Good luck TN and give girl a big hug for us .

I sure would like to see what happened in there !!! Reason was the Vet called me and she was laughing ! As we went over everything , then she said : Ken - You have a very pretty little girl and boy is she a live wire ! she also said she was very easy to work with ,like all the dogs you have brought us . Then the Pet nurse called and again went over things as well payment , she then started laughing and said they let her down and she took off with the Zoomies and she ran and ran , then hit the brakes and pooped a big one , so you don't need to bring us a bag of # 2 to be tested : ) I told her I was sorry about that and she went right before I brought her over there .

I did have a very nice talk with the Vet She's a keeper ! It was like she just needed to talk ,told me how people were getting mad at them , the phones are tied up because they are talking to people in the parking lot , it takes so much longer to do what they are doing to see a pet and it goes on and on , I felt so sorry for her , ago with the other vets in that office . I will admit , the place has changed hands and still don't like the way its being managed there ! yet the Vets are doing the best they can do with the conditions we are enduring at this time .

Well better get going

Have a great day .
Being apart from your puppy exam is mean.

Even my mechanic lets me in No Mans Land to show me what is heading South.

Wonder when we are going to get a Mocha report?

Cynical - "If Denny does find her telescope, she'll use it to snoop on her neighbors"

Sarcastic - "I'm 100% SURE Denny stowed her telescope right next to the z-Track keys."

Uncertainity vs distrust vs contempt—

The Mister: "That pile of dishes is getting pretty high."

vs. "Looks like you've got a lot of dishwashing, wan't some help?"

vs. "Alright then, if you won't let me in "your" kitchen, have fun loney-loney*!"

*"Loney-loney" is a term passed down from my grandparents to my parents to my DW, who still uses it today to describe any selfish behavior on the part of one's spouse or child. (usually males)

(SP, sorry to use you as example, but you provide us a treasure trove of material in your posts, along with a lot of good laughs!)

Glad I could be of help!
