But, since I'm home, they won't show up till 4 this afternoon LOL. What's in the package, you ask? Thanks for asking! It's my new camera, a Canon 5D mark iv...yep, finally getting a full-frame camera; stepping up to the big leagues, making the move, gonna play with the big boys! I've been wanting one for the longest time, but the cost always put me off until I saw they were running a holiday special with $600 off the regular price so after talking it over with Mrs. TN, and her giving me the nod, I bit the bullet. This camera will be more for portraits, landscapes, stationary wildlife, low light scenarios, and of course, more Mocha pics! And hey, it seems like forever since I've posted any pics so....

A shot of the moon from the parking lot at work yesterday morning

The parking lot at work was apparently THE place to be yesterday...I went outside in the afternoon to get away from my desk for a few minutes and as I looked out towards the tree line, I saw this 8-point buck, walking along the side of the road without a care in the world. I hurried to my car and grabbed the camera...we had a fence and about 60 yards between us so I couldn't get closer but got a few shots before he sauntered on his merry way (no doubt looking for does )

And last but not least, Mrs. TN took a few pics of the gang with her cellphone last night...

Where is that danged FedEx truck??????????????????
That is a beautiful buck.

Beats the buck we saw today.

Mister and I came home on a newly paved back road with shop buildings on the outskirts of the road. Had to demand he stop. He slowed down. No time to pull my phone out. That buck and a doe ran out between two buildings and across the road. Ran along side the road for the longest time and fled into the woods. Buck and doe were beautiful!

I kept telling him to slow down so I could count tines. He told me it's just a six point. I beg to differ that! I think the buck was pretty close to your buck. I haven't seen a rack that big in a long time.

So glad you were able to get that close and take pics!

Lucky you!

It was shocking to me, because they came out of a weird place. At first I thought there was a petting zoo or something.

melbrod Gonna say coleslaw, but I bet your picky person wouldn't touch it. White corn?

Applesauce is my go to vegetable/fruit filler when I'm feeling so lazy I can't stand cooking another minute after I've dealt with the entree.

28 oz can tomato sauce
3/4 cup catsup
3T worcestershire sauce - we use 4 T
1tsp chili powder - we use 3 tsp
1/2 tsp black pepper - surprised we don't add more.
1/2 tsp garlic powder - we use 1 tsp

Combine in all in slow cooker and let simmer for 8 - 10 hours. Not sure how long she really lets it cook

If you like Indian food have a couple recipes.
Got it printed out.

I am in the middle of cleaning the fridge out and the crock pot is one of the items. Your recipe is next on the list. I will use a red bell pepper, as well, to try to fake The Mister out! Right! He was picking things out of the Chinese food we ate today. He scraped his plate clean, otherwise.

So, what do you suggest for a side dish or two? Usually when I make canned sloppy joes it's chips and dip on the side. Got something new for me?

Mocha has come a long way since I first met you.

She was camera shy back then, as I recall.

Beautiful girl, as always.

And I slept with her on a floor mattress for 6 months, it seems like.

I think she'd say it's okay...at least for now

I remember those stories, Mel...that's dedication!

Waiting for the next LSU game, 5 PM our time, so I guess I'll have to find something to do until then. Now that they're in first place, I hope they don't embarrass themselves.

Rock on LSU! Make Ma Proud!

Good Luck!

When I first seen that picture TN- That is what I thought you were going for - I thought it might be lower like a f/1/5 or 6 - she does have pretty eyes !
11-16-2019 03:06 PM
melbrod You got them..at least that was the first thing I noticed and what drew me back to the center after my eyes took me around the rest of the picture. Actually it was hard to look away from them

melbrod Some of the salsas with mango/cilantro/pineapple/lime in various combinations taste good to me too.

I'm addicted to this salsa...there was a time I couldn't stand the taste of cilantro, now I love it. Give me a bag of spicy sweet chili doritos and a jar of this stuff and I'm good

Peas are our old standby. Even the picky one will eat them. And he'll eat spinach readily too. But not spinach with this recipe, I think.
I personally will eat just about any veg, but I'm partial to greens, all kinds. Collards and beet greens being my favorites.

Yup. But I have no memory skill. Vocabulary is easy, but managing declensions? ICK! And with a lot of languages, you can't get very far without them.

Now that's an idea. But I'd probably end up using curse words without knowing it.

I agree with you there--not about YOUR singing, but I'm in that boat too--not that I'm assuming you're actually in that same boat with me, but--heck, you know what I'm trying to say.

Obviously, a determined dog could do that, so you have to know your dog isn't going to be "that dog", and you need some supervision time to be sure of that, but it's kind of a "souped up" version of using a t-shirt. Cilantro salsa AND a delivery...heaven in your house today.

Pictures are great; that buck does look like he's out for a casual walk. I see the missus has got the photo talent too. Nice pic of your puppies, especially the furry one. Cell phones take amazingly good pictures these days.
