StrykersPerson Mister is suggesting we remodel certain rooms. Like making the two master bedrooms Jack and Jill like.

Fine. As long as there are toilets that flush like the one on the other side of the house. And, one of the master bedrooms needs a walk in shower.

Who is paying for all this crap?

Not me.

I bought this house because I loved it when I saw it.

Remodels are on Mister.

Nope! God blessed the world by not twinning me.

I don't have any sisters either. Lannie is as close they come.

My brother is funny, but not wild.

dobebug Nope Modm--I sees it just fine. Besides--I can't even tell you how unattractive that Sorta
Sage is just about anything would improve it. Even Whatever White but I swear that's exactly the shade of Driftwood.

Might want to get a $5-6 paint sample from them. Sample comes in satin sheen - We also got the duration paint. They are not cheap but are 30% off right now until end of Jan.

Here is a swatch I did on the wall - very hard to see. Not quite as nice as SDs photo....But I am not a camera pro yet
This is only 1 coat as well.

The back wall is a light yellow-ish contractor flat paint. We did not paint the hallway. May show up better when we paint over the pumpkin butter color of the living room.

And shame on that "breeder".
Speaking, as we were not so long ago about the many misspelled words that show up here and there. I've been entertaining myself lately with the amazing misspelled stuff that that show up on closed caption tv--They were doing a short piece on Jubilee--<VBG> it came out "...dog with wired eyes... Somewhat later someone revamped a line on a heart medication from "...heart beats" to "heart beets"...

Several years ago one of the show Superintendents had a printer who made so many errors and several of us spent dead time, waiting for classes to get in and out of the ring locating and laughing about some of those catalog errors. One of their proof readers always spelled breeder as breader--then if the breader in question was local we could go around and pick on them.

I finally managed (many years ago) to have three dogs who weren't afraid of thunderstorms (a Dobie, a Lab, and a mutt), until this one particular storm that went over the top of us. Lightning hit the plumbing vent on the roof, went down that pipe until it became PVC, then jumped over a foot to the refrigerator on the porch, and from there, through the wiring to the breaker box. Two light fixtures EXPLODED. I am not kidding. There was glass everywhere, and I absolutely freaked out. I was screaming at the dogs to stay out of the kitchen (tiny shards of glass all over the floor and some embedded in the wood cabinets) and they didn't know whether to sh*t or go blind. Our PHONE WAS MELTED. The aftermath of that was not to be believed. The TV went all wonky with big fat stripes of color and of course, both computers got fried. The stress level in the house was intense. But we got the mess cleaned up, and eventually got all the damaged items replaced (including the fridge, which was also fried). Days later, when I was getting a pan out of the back of the bottom cabinet in the kitchen, I found shards of glass in it. And those doors were closed when the fixtures exploded, so the glass went through the tiny crack of the opening, apparently. Scary stuff.

Anyway, from that point forward, if any of those dogs heard thunder off in the distance, they started shaking and slobbering and trying to climb up on my head. Zipper wasn't here yet then, so all she did when something chirped or beeped was shiver and back up to me, wanting me to hug her and hold her until the storm was over. Whenever we had a storm warning, she and I BOTH would take some melatonin or Benadryl or something else to make us sleepy and not so stressed. I used to love thunderstorms when I lived in Oregon, but since I've lived here, I've learned to fear them. Missy is pretty good - she's still scared, but she's a tough little girl and she manages to control it. Jasper, being a Pyr, is naturally afraid of loud noises (thunder, gunshots, trucks backfiring), so when he hears a rumble or a bang, he hides in his house until he deems it safe to come out.
Wow - I am with SP I might be in a corner as well!

I'm still trying to learn enough to talk to TN, my friend Nancy and Dan--our ultra sound/know it all tech who also does computer stuff. I just needed him more than you guys did at this point.

BTW, I need you. My daughter is going to show Bodhi this Spring and we need help.
Bonnie,

Get a mirror, look in thrift shops, etc for something fairly big and framed--find a place with a wall to lean it on and stand with your daughter as she stacks Bodhi--tell her what wrong with the stack. Go to DPCA website and look for Michelle Santana's series of posts on stacking--I think she called it Reindeer Games--and I think they put it under the breeder information. She has dozens of great how to tips.

I teach puppies a stand stay first and I avoid letting them grab at bait--they get too excited to stack well. Have her stand in front of the mirror and look to see if any of the feet are in pretty good position. If they are when starting out don't move any foot that is in correct position or close to correct position. When starting--settle for almost right--it keeps the puppy calmer and also gives them more confidence if you aren't always moving every foot every time. Don't start trying to bait into position until the puppy has some idea what position is.

Don't spend a lot of time practicing--even five minutes is probably too long for the babies--you'll only be in the ring and being looked at for about three minutes.

Teach a stay along with the stand. Once the puppy 'gets' stand stay then you can start teaching baiting into position.

Look in the puppies mouth daily--I can't remember--if Bohdi is male check his testicles several times a day--if a bitch go over her rear--puppy bitches are often reluctant to have their rears gone over. And just in case you get one of those judges who like to pick up a foot to look for a good thick pad on your working dog-do that with both front feet.

The major point of the mirror is that if you know or your daughter knows what looks correct in the ring from a distance they can then look down and see what the dog they are handling looks like to get the the same look from over the top of the dog.

Want more?

So now we are going to paint the guest bedroom in the silver strand and see what it looks like. If we like it then it will go in the spare bathroom and Master bed and bath.

Rest of house she thinks windfresh white - still a white but slight more color in it. LRV of 69 vs the 76 (LRV = Light Reflective Value - I believe). Kitchen not sure yet - maybe the agreeable gray below the kitchen rail and a light gray above....

all of those!

Will take a photo when done.... Ok off to Sherwin Williams.

PS If anyone wants to know--the other colors in the house were Billous Blue (with a mural of the little mermaid sitting on a rock with an octopus sitting on the same rock)--I really couldn't stand that I repainted it Whatever White. Th back bedroom is Lurid Lavender with dragonfly stick ons here and there--it's where I keeps plants that I don't want the cats to eat and/or visiting cats (I put the plants in ex-pens for that event. The rest of the place is more or less more Whatever White. Oh, yeah and the bathroom is Pale Pink with a wallpaper upper trim--which of course is pink roses. Every couple of years I stick the places where the trim wants to unstick itself from the painted wall.

As I recall that first picture (it's actually taken almost a month after picture number 2) But I know he was bored, tired--his class was just about the time I know is when he's been taking an afternoon nap--and that ring was set up so there was no good access for taking a picture during a class. He was hoping to back out of his collar about that point--definitely a skittery lil' puppy pose.

#2 is a "Look how big I am" pose...except his body/foot size ratio gives him away.
<VBG> And that picture was taken after he woke up from his afternoon nap and Mallary (who was handling him) had just corrected him for screwing around and trying to lay down on his collar.

He is lookin' good, for sure.
I think he's going to be slow to mature--but I think once he grows into all of his parts he's going to be a pretty nice looking boy. And he's very food motivated so you can get and usually keep his attention with food...

Not Catholic, but in southern Louisiana "they" are all around you. I didn't have to wear uniforms in the public school, but my mom dressed me in "mom" clothes. The schools didn't allow girls to wear pants until I was in 9th grade, and my mom had something against blue jeans in class. I could wear blue jean style pants to school, but they couldn't be blue.

Anyway, once I started doing horse stuff, blue jeans were what I wore unless I was at school, and I never learned much of anything else when it came to clothes. So long as I'm comfortable and reasonably well covered, I don't care what I wear.

It cuts my clothing bill by quite a lot.
I go waaaay back to when you were expected to wear skirts/dresses for common office wear (and before that even in public school no pants on females allowed)--it's why all my early puppies got trained to not even THINK about jumping on me--most of that stuff had to be dried cleaned.

Then I worked for the State of California for awhile and you could wear skirts, dresses or NICE pant suits (I hated pants suits--so it was skirts, dresses or stay home.

Then I worked for a canvas shop--where you could wear whatever you damned well pleased, the first of many marine hardware stores--where you could wear levis, shorts but you had to wear logo t-chirts (which was fine with me--I didn't have to pay for those). And eventually I ended up working for a vet clinic--you know what all of them wear--scrubs--for which there was a uniform allowance.

The end result is that I can effective outfit myself for boating gear (sailing primarily), or barn or kennel work or a vet kennel.

So I lived in levi's for the most part, sweatchirts--zippered hoodys. And since I've been semi retired it's mostly been sweat pants, t-chirts and zippered hoodys.

Yeah, definitly keeps the clothing costs down and they are all washable.
