|MomnaL||@Beaumont67 , I never understood the term "heart dog" until now. The timing is also a factor as Rip came into our family to ease the loneliness when my son went to college and left the baby sister behind. We all joked about him being the replacement brother, and he is, but then he became the replacement child too. I marvel daily at the depth of his intuitiveness and humor.|

|Beaumont67|| Riptide you big showoff / you did your momma proud !! |
...he is a big B-Day boy...
- he had my calendar vote / such a creative dress-up pose
PS - when one gets a heart dog, often its one in a million.
- not everybody will ever share the true experience
- the one dog that want to have that special relationship, with their human
- they can become / more human than dog
- and put family ahead of everything else, in their life
That's how I define it, "a gift of a dog, just runs your inseparable world".
Congrats you two.
We got former Amy, when our son was still in high school / I said, "she is your dog - till you leave home"...

Happy Riptide day!
What a year it has been! This boy has taught me so many things about Dobermans, about myself and about life. I've had dogs all my life but none that grabbed my heart and re-shaped it quite like this boy.
In this past year, he became a good citizen, inspired a silly ministry at the local nursing home, co-authored a book and got chosen for the DT Calendar! Because no ordinary birthday hat would suffice, a crown to match his birthday collar was the only logical choice:
The birthday star collar:
And the story of our journey:
Of course, being fabulous occasionally requires RnR:
And he was supposed to be my daughter's dog ... I am forever grateful for the ways he has opened my heart and opened my world.
