Fitzmar Dobermans | I'm glad that this class is working out for you - getting the experience with Nina is great and is seems like she is enjoying it too! |

jdd | put your fingers under it and gently tickle/push it up and stroke under it to teach them to keep it up. |

Ninabug | Wish I could get her tail to stand though! I'll need to ask the instructor about that. She's shows boxers primarily, so I believe she'd probably got experience in that department. |

^ Oh heya fellow Marylander ![]() I'm going to Catoctin Kennel Club in Point of Rock, MD. The lady is fantastic! It's an 8pm class on Wednesday nights. I know that a new session starts mid April. I came in half way through this one. Here's the website: Catoctin Kennel Club I'm not sure if I'll be in the beginners class again or if I'll be able to go into intermediate. The instructor will tell me. Also, DogSense, will do private handling classes. They are quite expensive, as they are one on one (ask for Lisa if you go this route) but probably worth it. I haven't shelled out the money for it yet, as I don't have the pup that I'm showing. Once I do, I may consider it. If for nothing other than to get another opinion. I know that Catoctin is a fairly good club. There were several people that showed at The Garden and did well from the club. That makes me think that maybe they know what they're doing! |

Ninabug | The REAL 2nd Handling Class thread (with pics!) Tonight was great. There was such a small class and we got lots of individual attention. The instructor strongly encouraged me to take Nina to matches. She said she is one of the most even tempered dogs she's ever mey ![]() We practiced getting them to line up the front legs on their own, and where to stop when approaching the run, and where to place our bodies. Here's a few pics Waiting patiently Still waiting patiently mom!!! |
