StrykersPerson Egad!

Alan week wacked, yesterday, inside the house fence line at the new place and encountered a copperhead. He killed it. It was by the house, near the AC unit and there was tall grass. I am praying that, if we keep the fence lines tidy, snakes won't be inclined to hang out there.

Oh geesh! Please pray Lily won't play with snakes again...

I close on my house on Friday...

Back to being a nervous wreck.

You need to come over and have a talk with Alan about the crap he brings home from estate sales and flea markets.

Every time he is off to a flea market, my response is, "And, where are we going to put the crap that you bring home?"

A girl can't have EVERYTHING she wants!

How exciting for you.

Sounds like a really cool place, 5 acres is a nice size of property.

Can't wait to see photos.
This is not quite exciting. I am done with this house buying crap. They will carry me out in a pine box. Never buying again.

StrykersPerson I forgot to say, there is a very fine, fenced in, chicken space!

I will peddle my eggs one of these days!

06-30-2016 10:08 PM
StrykersPerson Yes, 5 acres. I could push 3 horses there, if I cross fenced properly. I only want another horse. I only have one and he is boarded, very well, a mile from me.

I can't move him until I can get shelter and hay storage built. He can't go by himself. He has separation anxiety issues.

I am thinking about getting him a donkey.

He is staying right where he is until I figure out a solution.

It's going to be a while.

Everything is fenced. The house. And, the entire property line.

06-30-2016 09:47 PM
melbrod Sounds like an ideal place. You said 5 acres! Is some of that fenced, or all of it? Sorry I havenít kept up, but is a horse in the equation?

Well, The Scully's were supposed to be out yesterday, so I could start moving in, but they were plumb wore out. They are in their 80's and I guess their son Scully Jr. is in his 50's. I was supposed to go over there this morning and feed Dominic, but when I got there, their cars were still there. I got out of my truck and Dom scared the **** out of me, barking growling and bearing his teeth at me. I had to get stern with him to get through the yard gate. When I got inside the yard Scully Jr. opened the door and said, "Sorry, we spent the night here." It's still their house until the 15th, so who would have a problem with that!

I went to work. Came home and Alan had the new washer and dryer in his truck. So I called Mrs. Scully and she told me they were out and I could start moving in. So we took the washer and dryer over there. My truck was first at the property, opening the gate. And, Dom acted threatening once again. I took a hotdog with me and that seemed to work. Alan got through the gate before I did, and by the time I parked he and Alan were best buds! I left one of my trucks there in the car port and Dom moved in right under it like he does!

The cat was pet-able! I gave her some treats the Scullys left behind and she went straight for them.

I met the nearest neighbor's kid and he came out to his gate to make sure we were supposed to be there. We shook hands and introduced ourselves and had a short chat. He seems like a really good kid! Maybe he's 13/14?

We have got a lot of the Scullys personal belongings left behind. They left everything that wouldn't fit in the moving trucks. That being said, the house is not trashed. It was a well kept home. Guess I am getting ready to have a yard sale at my current place.

Whew!

I don't like having 2 electric bills. Got it turned on at the new place today.

Oh, and Dusk to Dawn lights cost extra, by the way. I think that is crappy!

Sorry, no pictures yet! Will as soon as I can.

Denny!

My animals have always gotten along. I am a "tough love" Mama. No shenanigans or you shall go to boot camp and be separated until you understand the rules.

When I say boot camp I mean professional help.

Not "booting" my dog...

I have an idea! You pay the shipping and train him, and then when he is smart I will come pick him up from, YOU!

Sucks not being able to have a Doberman...

Bummer!

You'll have the new place for a long long time...so there's no need to get the Doberman puppy of your dreams right now. Feel free to get all your stuff moved and unpacked first...like say in 10 weeks.
