|SoCalDobe||K-ris, look up member "AgilityDobe" on here and send her a private message with your question. She's in Utah and may have some good advice for you.|

|MeadowCat||I've met a couple of very nice Irongate dogs and I would personally consider a dog from her. The few that I've met have had really nice temperaments and I've heard very good things about her dogs temperaments, too.|

There are a lot quality breeders in Oregon and Washington state. I note that none were on the list. |
Foxfire (OR) produces dogs with a temperament well-suited for service or therapy work.
Emerald (WA) also produce service dogs.
Sunset (OR) produce nice dogs.
Sherluck, Starlaine and Wyndem (all in WA) have litters from time to time and nice dogs.
I am sure others will add their own experiences.

My Thor is from Pennylane, and is the best boy ever!! My girl Trinket is from Winmar, but sired by a Pennylane dog. |
Holly is one of the most wonderful people I've ever met, very active in clubs and rescues and has been a great mentor to me. She is a wonderful breeder, and really cares about her dogs and puppy owners. She titles and health tests and breeder for good temperaments. I can think off-hand of a dog of hers that is a therapy dog, and I think there have been a few of her dogs that were service dogs too.
Look into Winmar (Lisa Burroff), she's another great breeder in Las Vegas who has mentored me, her dogs have wonderful temperaments too. What I said for Holly can be repeated for her as well.
I've met some very nice LeMils and Irongate dogs too though Lisa.
A good breeder who breeds solid dogs should be able to help you with a service dogs, just ask from that list about dogs bred by them that have been made into service dogs.
And, Thor and Trinket pictures for fun.

|kmbeach22||My friend is very close with Holly of Pennylane Dobermans. I have a couple friends with dobermans from her and I hear so many wonderful things on a daily basis. She seems very detail oriented and close with her puppy buyers, not just the ones who are local.|

Thoughts on these guys?
I am looking for a breeder in the western US(im in Utah)--specifically, looking for a dog to train for service work. The local dobie rescue sent me these names. Any opinions on any of these breeders? I am not looking to get a pup until early 2016, but want to find the right breeder and build a relationship prior.
