I got word about Leo's second and third CRO Preliminary Dance legs today. Figure 8 Waltz, a Q with Honors Scenic Rout Tango, a Q Kind of proud of the little bushy butt..... |

engstrom | Congrats Rosemary! It's always nice to see your videos and the bond you have with your dogs. Congratulations on the Q with Honors! |

Leo and I tried out hands/paws at CRO Dance Division the other day. I sent in the video, even though I wasn't really happy with it. I was fully expecting to hear that we didn't Q. Well, knock me over with a feather, not only did we get a Q, we got a Q with Honors (meaning that we were 90% or higher in all scoring categories). I am stunned. We did the 90 Degree Foxtrot for this run. Now, we just need to get cracking on our Scenic Route Tango and Figure 8 Waltz. |

Yay! Ilka has her CRO-1! Our passing entries... Leg 1 Leg 2 Leg 3 We are going to start filming some level 2 runs soon, along with more level 1* runs, since we can "stockpile" them, and submit them as funds allow. One course that I'm looking forward to doing is Level 1 Course 18. It has as its first four stations a spiral right, double serpentine, spiral left, and single serpentine. There are seven cones set in a T pattern, and all four exercises share at least one cone. It's taken me four diagrams (the last is color coded) and walking it about half a dozen times to come up with the correct pattern. *You can earn advanced titles at all levels, similar to every organization except AKC. |

Others said they were writing too. It's a 5 day show we are all tired but her attitude was very uncalled for. I put her on my "do not show" list. Oh well still got my title! ![]() |

Leo got to play today! She actually did MUCH better than I expected, considering she hasn't been asked to heel more than a few steps at a time in probably a year. |

Our attempt of the 90 Degree Foxtrot, one of the CRO Preliminary level dances. It's kind of fun, actually. Sort of the beginnings of freestyle. The next level we have to do this same pattern as a series of call fronts, with the handler walking backwards. |

That's great that you're working on something like that! Very useful! Gretchen loves Barn hunt! |

Rosemary | I'm actually working on a list of dog sports, and the organizations that offer them. It's a bit more involved than I thought. For example, if you count barn hunt as "nosework", in the US and Canada, there are 10 different organizations using something like a dozen different scents. |

Wowza! I had no idea! I knew AKC and UKC because their rules are slightly different but I had no idea about the others! Cool! |

And Q number two. ![]() I've started looking over the Level 2 courses... wowsa! I'm thinking we will try the dance division, as well, now that I've read up on it. |

Not a whole lot of equipment required. The biggie is the tennis court, and the city provides that. ![]() I already have a set of jumps that I got several years ago, and I'm going to make a few more out of PVC when I need some more. |
01-20-2016 11:10 PM | |
Gretchen_Red | So you purchased all of the equipment? |

Rosemary | Its an organization called Cyber Rally-O. Cyber Rally-O: Welcome! They have some very challenging behaviors at the higher levels (sending over multiple jumps, for example), and even in the first level, they have some extremely challenging courses (there are some that have both serpentine and spirals, sharing the same cones). |
