dobebug I agree with Rosemary--looks like a small section of dewclaw didn't get properly removed and is still growing--removal of such remnants can often be done under sedation rather than full anesthesia. But consult your vet.

Post-dew claw removal question

Hi- we just got our first doberman, Gimli, about a week ago. He's 3 months old and came to us with his dew claws removed. My concern is that where the dew claws were there is a scar with a small, sharp, hard protrusion sticking out of it (see attached picture). If it were dark, I would think it was a nail, but it's light colored. I can feel the underlying bones in that area, so I'm not sure if it has anything to do with that. Any idea what this could be? We have an appointment with the vet this week, but just curious if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks!
