Elzajpn | Oh no, I did it again. VERY old thread! |

Elza wore the sweater last winter but it shrank after several washes. She has a dozen of clothes but they somehow fit I have to say. Bare belly or a bit tight. My favorite is DT member's handmade fleece clothes. Since she knows Doberman's unique body shape well, it nicely covers Elza's belly but not tight around chest. When the forecast tells it'll be cold, I put it on her. She never shivers with it. If you're interested in, PM MeadowCat ![]() |

vivienne00 | I would just get pajamas. There are a bunch of threads on here about dobes wearing jammies. The sweater doesn't work for me since the kitted yarn gets caught on things and by teeth. I prefer the fleece. Yoda has two 4 legged jammies and one 2 legged set. |

I am also a fan of chillydogs in Canada, am about to order another fleece for Pollo. Zolawear.com has ADORABLE fleece pj's - not very "manly" but they sure look warm and I have heard good things about them, even tho I have never ordered from there. I also believe some of the money goes to a doberman rescue. |

I crocheted a sweater for my Jake, when the cold weather started rolling in; he loves it. If anyone crochets and would like a pattern, I made up a pattern. btw, this pattern is more by measurement instead of number of rows... PM me, if you are interested... also for those who do knit/crochet, I can also be found on ravelry, by the same name ![]() |

I was going to say Chilly Dogs because I bought Shannon a fleece, coat and snood there. The quality is excellent and I cant praise them enough. But since you said youre looking for something inside Id check into the fisherman sweater from fetchdogs: Fisherman Sweater | Dog Sweaters | Free Shipping on Dog Shirts & Dog Sweaters from FetchDog We bought one and Shannon loves it. My only concern is how long it will last because it is a knit....seems a little delicate to me. I wouldnt suggest it for play but for lounging around inside it fits the bill. Edited to add: If you decide to buy something from FetchDog be sure to search the internet for coupon codes. |

Brinxsmom | Dob Coats k9apparel.com this website has breed specific and I really like the tummy warmer for the dob. They have a few different options at reasonable prices. Quote:

I finally found the link, I had his PJ's made at http://www.needlenoseapparel.com/ But when I went and really looked at the site I found this note: Due to overly high demands I am unable to take any new orders at this time. Anyone who has an order placed, or who has contacted me regarding an order, will have their items made. I do apologize but my waiting list has become much too long. Please check back after the first of the year. Sounds like she got to busy, but I hope she starts after the first of the year, I found her to be very reasonable (I think the 4 legged pj's were only $28 or $32) Also, when I "Frontline" him (usually in the morning when I leave for work), I put a mans adult t-shirt on him when we go to bed. He likes to cuddle and usually there is still some residue, so I put the t-shirt on to keep his residue on him and not on me or my bedding. I know Kai likes wearing them, as he gets so excited when I get any of his "clothes" out. He has 2 coats, the pj's and probably 4 "human" sweatshirts and a dozen human t-shirts. He is very cooperative putting his head in the "hole" and waiting for me to put his legs in. Oh and he loves bandannas as well and we probably on a couple dozen of those. In the summer I will put a t-shirt on him if we are out doing something so I can soak it down with water. I bought a cool coat at the end of summer so we will try that next year. He has a cute surfer shirt that belonged to my son, and I always call him "surfer dude" when he has it on! (Oh and my parents think I am nuts for putting clothes on my dog, but I keep the house really cool in the winter, it was 63 when I got up this morning and the heat kicked on to warm it to 64) Best wishes on finding something!!! Added Oh and I had to be careful of pre-made things with legs. For Kai he just could not get his legs in them and have them stretch around his back and fit the other leg. I loved all the cute pjs on some of the dog sites but they just did not fit him right. |

DobieGirl | Thanks Kais mom, those are adorable, I'll have to pick him up a few human sweaters. Those P.J's are so cute! Where did you get them made!? I think Sirius secretely likes to wear his jacket (even though it's purple) he likes the attention it gets him. |

Its especially handy if you happen to have a male and use sweatshirts. Here are some pictures of Kai in his pj's (I had them custom made, from a company online, but I will have to search for their name) and in a sweatshirt (I was trying to be thrifty). This is a normal XL sweatshirt, I like high neck sweatshirts better as they keep his neck warmer. He really does like "clothes" He willingly puts his head through the hold and then once he is dressed he dances around all excited. He loves it when we put coats on and is a little more reserved when we have a coat on and are out walking. |

Honestly, for inside the house, I use mostly adult sweatshirts, while they are baggy and hang down at the stomach, they are great for Kai to cuddle in to. (I was being even extra thrifty) I did have a pair of Pj's made just for him (4 legged) but we only put this on at night when I will not have to let him out for at least 8 hours. I would love to knit my own sweaters, but it is the leg part that I worry about the most. If you want to see pictures, let me know... |

DobieGirl | What about just sweaters? Sirius has 2 coats for outside but I am looking for a sweater for inside, we can't turn the heat up too high because our samoyed will sweat to death and sirius shivers if it's not boiling in the house. |

I ran across these http://www.bwdogcoats.com/our-dog-coats.html for those who live with hard core winters. They are custom made and a bit pricey but look very warm. These are designed for working dogs to keep muscles warm http://www.obtrack.com/dogcoat/index.html they also have a fleece non waterproof version http://www.obtrack.com/dogcoat/us_rogle.html I dont think either of these are designed for maximum warmth so they would probably work as designed to prevent cooling down too fast or as wind breakers/sweaters For those who sew http://www.simplicity.com/dv1_v4.cfm?design=9520 http://www.simplicity.com/dv1_v4.cfm?design=4300 There are other patterns but they may not be dobe sized http://www.simplicity.com/index.cfm?...Id=&startrow=1 heres one for a hooded coat designed for a greyhound http://www.bark.addr.com/pat/hood/hoodpat.html done with a lighter material it could be used as a sweater and if you dig around that site there is a non hooded version along with several other craft items http://www.bark.addr.com/pat/instruct.html |
