It all depends on what you want to spend. Generally speaking, the digest can take a win picture and design a decent ad around it. I have always just done a word document with the information I want in the ad and the picture(s) and then give them an idea of color and style. I've always been pretty happy with what they come up with. |
I keep wording to a minimum and no more than two pictures. The judge should show in the win picture along with the photographers mark. You should have his registered name and his call name. Sire and dam should be listed as well.... I HATE ads where there is no pedigree info - I normally do a 3 generation pedigree. Put the BISS before the CH in his name and something like "Mac finished in limited showing"
At the very bottom, you should list the breeder(s), owner(s) and handler if you used one
I would definitely talk to your breeder and clear the ad with them - especially the show picture you are using.

I'm hoping to put together an ad for Mac for the Doberman Digest. He went BISS and finished in limited showing, so I'd like to celebrate that!
-Does anyone have a designer they recommend?
-What do you think should be in the ad?
-Should it just be conformation/win photos, or can we put in something from IPO or Dock Diving?
-Do you need to call out all the judges who put him up?
- Any really good examples I should be looking at? It's been a great excuse to scroll through old editions and drool over dogs. I feel like Philmar ads are always gorgeous... could have something to do with the dogs lol.
