Huntsville AL Dobie Wanted

Hello all, I am glad to be here. I am interested in rescuing a younger Dobie. I am a professional that has finally reached a point in my career where I will have the time to dedicate to a doberman. I had a doberman mix as a kid and loved him until he passed away when I was in High School. After school I joined the military and never had the time to dedicate to a pet.

Now that I am retired and working as a local pilot I should have the time with my schedule. I work a 7 day on 7 off schedule. On my workdays I will be working a 12 hour on call schedule. I am working to figure out how to make that work.

I own my own house with about a half acre yard. soon to be fenced.

My off weeks he/she would be my running buddy.

Thanks again and I look forward to talking with you.

Tim

Hey guys. I work at a veterinary hospital in north Louisiana, and today we had a doberman come in, in need of serious help.

He is very underweight, strong heartworm posative, and homeless. We are not a shelter/rescue, so we don't have the resources to help this guy.

He is approximately 3 years old red boy, C&D, intact, and such a sweetheart!
I have no idea if he gets along well with other dogs, cat, kids, etc., but I have to help him.

What can I do for him? I don't have the room for him, and I can't take him to my parent's ( they do have plenty of room) but they have two male dogs. Do any of you that are really involved in rescue have any contacts? Will a rescue even take him when they know he is heartworm postative?

He can stay at the clinic until/ if I am able to find a foster. I wish I had a picture of him.

Contact DAN. contact Doberman Assistance Network They can hopefully help you find a rescue with space for him.

Or you can check with GCDR (likely your nearest rescue) directly and see if they have room.
GCDR-Contact Us

Thank you for intervening on this boy's behalf.
