Hi all!

I am new to Dobermans but very experienced in training working breeds. I recently adopted a 1.5 year old working line European male from an older couple who previously only had American Dobermans and they were not prepared for his high drive(s) and pushback temperament. The woman eventually got into a power struggle while he was on leash and she attempted to correct him with the prong collar and he redirected and grabbed her hand. He did not break the skin and immediately let go and ran to his kennel. At that point they opted to re-home him.

From 8 weeks to 14 months he was only allowed access to their dining room and back yard. So he never learned house etiquette, he never really experienced cuddling or had the opportunity to interact with other dogs. He has been with me for almost 3 months and he has been integrated into our home and has done very well with house rules as well as leaned to play nicely with our female Amstaff.

I have trained him on and off leash obedience, some tricks to busy his brain, and he has completely Velcro'd himself to me. Borderline unhealthy attachment...so we are now working on that. LOL
