Hello from New Jersy,need helo

hey there, i was searching for some information and found this site dedicated to doberman. I have a Doberman his name is Bruno and he is three years old, lately he has been acting a little weird, i have noticed an increase and aggression and excessive barking, if anyone has faced this kind of issue i would love to take your advice.

Welcome to DT RC ! I’m just taking a stab in the dark here , but you said he is 3 , maybe he is just taking control , like hey dad , that is not suppose to be there , or a rabbit or squirrel. They do get protective of there home . Like I said , just a guess .

Welcome to DT.

It wouldn't hurt to have a thorough vet exam, including a full thyroid panel. If nothing else, you will have baseline levels to compare future thyroid levels to.

hey thanks for the replies, yes @LadyDi actually i have recently shifted to Middlesex NJ so that might be one of the reasons. My friend here recommended me a great place named Camp Bow Wow, they have these amazing obedience classes and they have three levels ranging from basic to advanced at very reasonable rates.

I can say for sure i have seen amazing improvements in Bruno's behavior he has become much more calmer and obedient, i would definitely recommend it.

Hi Robert, I happened across your post. If things are getting better with your boy and he is good with other dogs, I'm looking to find playmates for my female.

I would second the suggestion to have a full vet physical and do bloodwork including a full thyroid panel. Low thyroid is common in Dobermans, and can result in personality changes. It is easy to medicate, and is not expensive.

Training classes with your dog are also a great idea, but would still do the testing.
