Finally followed the flickr tutorial...

Been posting for a bit, but I finally got motivated to follow Rosemary's excellent flickr tutorial and post pics of all three generations of our pooches, eldest to youngest:

Kascha, rescued ~May 2012 from the Moose Jaw Humane Society, now 12 years young:

Wizard ost Revolution Aloha (Lois), nearly 4 years old:

And announcing newly arrived Wizard ost Revolution Dakota (Reba), niece of Aloha:

It's very likely that more puppy in motion pics will follow. Enjoy!

P.S. And thanks to whoever recommended that chew toy shaped like a divining rod mated with a femur (in the 3rd pic), I found one when we traveled to the U.S. to pick up Reba and it's one of her faves!

P.P.S. In case you can't quite make out the wierd font on the pillow in the last pic, it actually says 'Joy', which is when I couldn't resist reaching for my camera.

P.P.P.S. She'll eventually grow into those legs/stilts, right?

Quite the crew How old is Reba? We MUST have more pictures--you have no excuse now that you've figured the system out.

Funny you should mention the chew toy (which I think I recommended??)...I just ordered a couple more--one to use, one as a spare (actually, the extra one saves on shipping for some other stuff we needed, but I know it will be used at some point), because the old one is looking a bit used

HDD has definitely loved that chew to death.

Reba was born Apr. 17th so she's now almost 14 weeks. She's probably the most laid back doberman puppy we've ever had (which is a really nice change from our last puppy Cayenne who we'd nicknamed 'the hellhound' by day 2). She had her first obedience class Sunday (with her aunt Lois) and she knows sit and down already. And we're using a black Folgers lid as a temporary puppy frisbee and she's already fetching it and her tennis ball back ~70% of the time.

I'm just hoping I can find another of those chew toys here in Canada. Or I suppose I might be able to find one to order over the internet, although hers is kept in her crate (so the big dogs don't abuse it) and it's still in pretty pristine condition. She has, however, already desqueaked two plush toys with her dobershark puppy teeth.

There's a definite resemblance around the head and muzzle, although I imagine their lump patterns are quite different. And the tan markings on Ali make her look way younger. Since Kascha's picture was taken in 2017 most of her markings have lightened to pure white. In fact since Lois arrived I've been wondering if Kascha is actually pure dobe because: the hair texture is so different; and in my experience, dobes don't go that white. So I actually got a DNA kit from Embarkvet.com and should know her actual background in two weeks. Plus I wanted to test Lois and Reba for the various genetic conditions and all their data gets sent to the Doberman Diversity Project.

So we just got the DNA testing results for all three pooches back from Embarkvet.com, the company was recommended by a local vet who is a breeder. I recently watched a video on the multibillion tech company Theranos which ended up being a huge scam. Embarkvet states that they can test for 170+ conditions which seems really ambitious. So my question is: is there a gold standard company for DNA testing for dog/doberman breeders?
