I have owned Boxers, had a number of rescue Great Danes over the past decades. When Bruno went to the vet for the last time, I decided to get a Boxer puppy. He has been a blast and at about a year of age, I was presented with a female Doberman puppy. Was necessary to keep them separate as she (Gina) was a gangly 10 week old while he (Rex) was over a year and 60 pounds. She is now five months old and over the past six weeks they have been playing together under supervision. Lots of noise but no one has been damaged and they have a good time.
I have known Dobermans but have never owned one before, much less raised one. She is pretty quick- knows 'sit', 'come' (most of the time unless smelling something interesting), 'speak', and 'shake'.
I live in San Diego County, the dogs have three acres fully chain link fenced to run around and chase ground squirrel, rabbit, and assorted birds and once in a while a neighborhood cat. Neither Rex nor Gina have caught anything as yet, but not for lack of trying.
Gina is a black/tan Doberman and Rex a dark brindle Boxer.

Welcome from the Pacific NW.
I have had Boxers and Dobermans together. IMO, Boxers are one of the only breeds that can handle a Dobe puppy well They are tough and tenacious dogs.

I am so glad that you have a mixed gender pup family as both breeds are prone to same sex aggression (SSA). You will avoid the drama that I experienced years (decades) ago.

That being said, as the both mature, I would carefully monitor their play and train them separately. Dogs like Dobes and Boxers and many others even at 10 months apart can exhibit what is known as "Littermate Syndrome". Without going into detail, basically the pups tend to totally rely and depend on each other, eschewing their human's input.

So... It probably won't happen, but I would research it regardless and perhaps use the available info to circumvent any tendencies in that direction. Lots of info on line.

In any case... So nice to have you here!
