I'm RJ Nevens and this is Liberty Belle Starr!

Hi everyone! I'm RJ and this is Liberty Belle Starr. She is our third Doberman and at 4.5 months she's a handful! I have loved the breed my entire life, getting my first Dobe (Sidney Belle Starr) when I was just 20 years old. She was a beautiful red one and stole my heart. We recently had to put our Lexie Belle Starr down after a wonderful 10.5 years. And now we have this little butterball, Liberty Belle Starr.

I'm a screenwriter and author. I wrote a multi-award winning screenplay that later became a book called Walking Point and we are marching this story to the big screen, hopefully!

A marine is always faithful. So is man's best friend. Walking Point is an empowering tale of love, loss, and victory centered around a young private in the marines and his donated canine companion, the heroic Duke. A seventeen year old John Markle reluctantly leaves his widowed father behind and enlists in the marines with no real plan until he meets Emily, a charming Dogs for Defense trainer. She quickly steals his heart but before they know it he is shipped off from Camp Lejeune and on his way to liberate Guam from the clutches of the Japanese Empire. Forming friendships along way, Private Markle learns to cope with the heartache and horrors of battle in the Pacific with Duke by his side. Letters from Emily and a ten year old patriotic boy, Tommy, whose family donated Duke, help him maintain hope even though his fight for survival has him and his platoon questioning their actions and moral compass. Foreword by Susan Bahary, acclaimed sculptor of the Always Faithful memorial. Walking Point is based off RJ's multi-award winning feature length screenplay of the same name.

I'm glad I came across this forum and look forward to chatting with some people!

Welcome to DT forum from Utah. Liberty is very cute! Is the 'Belle Starr' part the breeders kennel prefix? Congratulations on your screenwork and book. It sounds amazing. I look forward to more stories and pictures of 'Liberty'.

Thanks! Belle Starr was the kennel's pre fix for Sidney my first Dobe. My other two Dobe's are not from the same breeder but we carried on the name, informally, with Lexie and Liberty.

She is so cute! Congratulations! I'm Allison in San Antonio and am new to this forum as well and to Dobermans in general. We just got our first puppy 3 weeks ago. His name is Moose and we are having a lot of fun with him! Walking Point sounds neat! Look forward to seeing more Liberty pics.
