Absolutely adorable boy you have there, hello from Australia. Kinda sad you aren't keeping his ears natural because natural ears are super cute and my boy loved when I play with his. Even so he's a beautiful boy!

^^Huh?? What brought on that off-the-wall rude remark?

OP, I LOVE your boy's expression! So intelligent and alert. I bet he is a joy to train!

Why is a harness bad?

We had our ortho vet tell us that for Dobermans a harness is a good option, because neck instability aka Wobblers can be an issue with this breed.

It's bad from a training standpoint. A dog is more likely to pull.

That's a myth. A dog is no more likely to pull with a harness than a collar. You can teach them to walk with a loose leash either way. As long as it is fitted properly, there's absolutely nothing wrong with a harness.

This is the first time I've seen this thread. I loved seeing all the pictures of your boy growing up. He is beautiful.

Also regarding the harness, he now walks with a headvollar to help train him to walk calmly alongside me

I don't know what kind of head collar that is, but regardless, it is very poorly fitted.

Yes this is true. It is the Halti - sizing chart says to use a size 3 for Dobes... I returned it and a smaller size 2 is en route
