Searching for reputable ear cropper in KC, KS area. ASAP

Hi, as you can see I am new to this forum. My name is Mike, I am a new dobe(Ares) owner and am looking to have his ears cropped before he gets too old. He is 7 weeks now, I've had him since 6. He was in deplorable conditions, until I took him.

I have done a little research and found some places that do it, but I want whats best for him, and really dont know much about the vets I have called.

Any info is greatly welcomed and appreciated.

Thanks again, Mike

I would contact show breeders in your area and find out who they recommend.

You might also post the names of the vets you're considering and members in your area might be able to give you some feedback.

Dr. Rose in Raytown

Hi, I recently used Dr. Rose at Raytown Animal Hosipital. He did a wonderful job. My vet Dr.Theis recommended him, said his ears were artistic and that most show dog owners used him. Dr Rose has clients from all over the US and I wasn't disappointed. I also found a Dr Sackett in North Kansas City, and would have used him if my vet hadn't strongly encourage me to use Dr Rose. I didn't know anything about either, but most vets here won't crop ears because they say most customers don't want to pay for the expense. I haven't heard anything negative about Dr. Sackett, but I can say the office help is Dr Rose's office was considerably friendlier on the phone.

Dr Sackett's office quoted me $350
Dr Rose itemized and the bill came to a total of $322.

I hope that helps.

That's why it's important to get a puppy from a reputable breeder, one that handles the crop for their puppy buyers. New owners shouldn't have to scramble around to find a good cropping vet

This thread is a few weeks old. The situation has been handled, in some way, by now.

No dog is at fault for being born into this world.
